However, late in the film the girls reveal that the encounter is more of a funeral (celebration of life?) for one of their friends' death.  The couple in the Range Rover were the parents of the deceased girl, Winona and in the final scene workers are assembling a Tiki bar on the beach signifying that life moves on. A female writer is harassed by the men in her life. She splits to a Malibu beach house and three men end up dead. The story was so ridiculous that a seven year old wouldn't buy into it. I gave it 'one thumb down'. Watched 'INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE' (Netflix). The AMC version makes it all about the gay relationship between Louis and Lestat and the racist attitudes {Jim Crow} in early 20th century New Orleans. Anne Rice and her son did not OK the final project and Anne died before they finished and she never saw the final product. And, in the novel the character of Louis was not a black man. The series is set in Storyville in the early 20th century and the novel was set in Louisiana during the 18th century. Both the series (100% more references) and the book have elements of a gay romance....
