Cloudy and humid with temps just over 80. {windows open} Yesterday during the rain a large branch fell at the house next door. The wood was rotted and I think that the soaking rain yesterday absorbed weight and caused it to fall. I put the branches in the gutter to be picked up.  I moved the standing lamp that shorts out in the living room. It isn't going to work and I've got to buy a lamp that directs the light to where I need it to read.  745am: Preparing to head to Cherry Hills in my new 'funeral' outfit; new Target shirt & suit pants from Jamie's wedding.  Joe called yesterday while I was on the treadmill around 5pm. He said that they would be there about 830am and I said I'd be there about 9am. Who is going to be able to attend if you have a job?  I watched a little of ...

Nice! 8am: I noticed a prompt to 'restart'. No difference is performance.  Watched 'Irena's Vow' (Netflix). Soon after the invasion of Poland a local woman becomes the housekeeper (and later his lover) for a high ranking Nazi officer. She was able to hide eleven Jews in the house that they shared (he was oblivious) until the end of the war. It's a Canadian film that was shot in Poland and based on the life of Irena Gut.   We 9/9/26 740am (GB: 5/ Durban Poison). 1145am (GB: 5/ Durban Poison). 535pm (GB: 5/ Durban Poison). 820pm (GB: 5/ Durban Poison).  Up 7am: Partly cloudy & humid with a chance {30%} of afternoon storms and temps to upper 80's. Watched 'THE WELL' (Hoopla). A very bland post-apocalyptic story about small groups of people trying to survive. Water is scarce and one 'family' must find a replacement part for their well to remain clean. It's a very slow moving plot and not much of a story to care about.  Filmed in Hamilton, Ontario which is just west of Niagara Falls. Watched 'INSTADOCS- THE DECOY PLANE' (Netflix- 30"). The mini-documentary details how Trump slipped off Air Force One into a catering truck in Turkey following a NATO summit on July 8, 2026, switching to a smaller military aircraft to evade a reported security threat involving Iran while reporters unknowingly stayed on the decoy plane. Up 730am: Plenty of sunshine and temps to 90. {Windows open early, but AC  later} Watched 'KILLING THEM SOFTLY' (Hoopla). It's what might happen if two goons tried to knock over a high stakes poker game that's protected by the mob. Very well done with a stellar cast; Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini. "64" Metascore and I would easily go to "92". Based on the novel 'COGAN'S TRADE' by George V. Higgins. Watched 'HOT SUMMER NIGHTS' (Netflix). Set on Cape Cod in 1991 and concerns a couple of young guys who start dealing small amounts of weed and then grow the business to become a massive cannabis operation.  Mo 9/7/26- Mowed The Lawn 740am (GB: 5/ Durban Poison). 1015am (GB: 5/ Cat Piss). 315pm (4-B: Cat Piss). 530pm (GB: 5/ Cat Piss). 820pm (GB: 5/ Durban Poison).  Up 7am: Abundant sunshine & less humid with temps to low 80's. {730am: Windows Open All Day],. Finished 'BLOOD SACRIFICE' (Netflix). The painting that motivated the murders concerned the legend of King Domalde of the House of Ynglings. It's a Norse myth about a king who was sacrificed as an offering to the gods to end a multi-year famine. It must have worked because the next harvest was exceptional. It's a silly & illogical premise even for a myth. The reason the 'killer' cop targeted the police was that once he called for backup (his partner was critically wounded & later died), but the person in charge didn't send officers and then erased his call. This was one of the best Police Procedurals that I've seen in a long time.  10am: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk ...

 Su 9/6/26 750am (GB: 5/ Cat Piss). 955am (3-B: Durban Poison). 1140am (GB: 5/ a mix of Cat & Durban). 240pm (4-B: Durban Poison). 540pm (GB: 6/ Durban Poison). 830pm (GB: 6/ Cat Piss).   Up 640am: Morning clouds to mostly sunny with temps to mid/upper 80's and still extremely  humid.  Weekly Cleaning Watched 'NOTHING TO LOSE' (Netflix). A woman learns that her son has terminal leukemia and when he is refused a bone marrow transplant,  she gets a couple of handguns and holds the entire hospital hostage. It's a silly premise and not very believable. Filmed in the 'Ile-de-France' which is located in the north-central part of France, surrounding the capital city of Paris. More 'BLOOD SACRIFICE' (Netflix). This is definitely one of the better 'Nordic Noir' genre films. I finished episode #3 and only two remain. Watched 'SENTIMENTAL VALUE' (Kanopy). It's an ingenious Art Film about the relationship between a famous movie director and his two daughters who are both acclaimed actresses. Dad wants his eldest daughter to play a part in his new film, but she refuses because of the emotional turmoil that it would cause. The director has hired a new actress to play the part, but even she realizes that it just won't work; with Renate Reinsve (THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD), Stellan Skarsgard, Elle Fanning.
