She gets taken in by a middle aged woman and 'The Men' (her husband and son). Big Reveal: Mom was seeking a 'replacement' ('reflection'?) for her daughter who committed suicide. I thought that there would be a bit more to the story. Shot in Berlin and the Uckermark region in Brandenburg, Germany. This area is north of Berlin, Germany on the Polish border. Directed and written by Christian Petzold. "78" Metascore and that's about where I'd put it. Weekly Cleaning Watched 'FACING EL CHAPO' (Netflix). Two Mexican 'Federales' capture the biggest drug dealer in Mexico at a routine traffic stop and refuse to be bought off. Based on a true story and identities of the two officers have never been released. Not riveting drama, but it shows the pervasive and corrupting influence of super wealth. El Chapo's power seemed more powerful than the federal and local authorities.  935am: Preparing to call Joe for another visit to Pleasant Plains. The film is based on a novelized biography by Emmanuel Carrere of the Russian dissident writer and politician, Eduard Limonov. 'Eddie' was against any form of societal control and spent his life attacking any intrusion on his perceived liberty. He was the definitive 'Anarchist'. He was born in 1944 and in the sixties he was a struggling poet in Russia and in the 70's he hung with the Andy Warhol crowd in NYC. Then it was Paris and then back to Mother Russia for some prison time. The film features a lot of the music of the Velvet Underground and an excellent 'video' within the film of 'Pretty Vacant' by the Sex Pistols. "61" Metascore and I would go to "76".   Finished ...

The windows have been open for a couple of days, and I might have to close them if the humidity gets too high. {830pm- still open}. Watched 'THE TRUTH AND TRAGEDY OF MORIAH WILSON' (Netflix). In May of 2020 a two year old girl was kidnapped from a tiny village in Thailand and the media & the internet ('Netizens') became obsessed with the case. The uncle and the parents had different news channels following their every move. Although this was technically a 'news story', it soon became popular entertainment. The uncle took the fall on the flimsiest evidence I'd ever heard. Strands of the little girl's hair were found in his vehicle, but it was not unusual for the girl to ride in his truck. Watched 'RELAY' (Hoopla).  850am: Call from nurse at Martinek's office..."no significant findings on the x-ray". Gastroenterologist office will call to schedule a colonoscopy. Dr. Martinek recommends a stronger laxative. I'll pick that up when I get the call that the suppository is in.   Watched 'RELAY' (Hoopla). I had seen this film fairly recently, but I didn't recognize the title. The Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) is a genuine public communications system in the US for people with hearing or speaking difficulties. Watched 'A CHILD OF MY OWN' (Netflix). Crazy story, but very believable. I shut it down with 44 minutes remaining and I'll finish the documentary tonight. 935am: Preparing to call Joe (and remind him that I noticed that he shaved his head) and head back to Pleasant Plains.  945am- 1010am to Pleasant Plains left 115pm. Just Joe & I and spent the whole time at her bedside. She's well enough to say 'hi' and then she's back to sleep. Jamie let me in the locked back door and he went back to sleep. Melissa was at work. Joe said the nurse should be here in the morning, but she never showed. $7.00 suppository at Walgreens. Mostly sunny with temps to low 80's and not as humid.  An old gray sedan is connected to the guy that's working on the house next door. Somebody dropped him off just after 7am.  Picked up sticks and branches on the lawn. Watched 'DON'T SAY GOOD LUCK' (Netflix). {An Adam Sandler production}. A suburban family grapples with Mom's terminal cancer and recognition for their daughter when she scores the lead role in her high school play, 'Waitress'. Not as bad as it sounds, but just a little too sweet; with Sunny Sandler (Adam Sandler's daughter), Melanie Lynskey, Steve Buscemi. "73" Metascore and that's where I'd leave it.
