It's a very complicated tale of John le Carre level 'spy craft' in the city of Berlin involving various secret agencies including South Korea, North Korea, the CIA, MOSSAD, and a criminal Arab gang (?). A female translator for the North Koreans is compelled to sleep with a German diplomat to seal a deal favorable to the North Koreans. This is the final outrage and she decides to defect to the west, but her husband (who is a North Korean spy) is on the fence. I'm not even sure if this is what happened because the film is much more confusing than needed, but the gunplay and fisticuffs were worth a look. Quirky Scene:...

A retired super-spy learns that his childhood martial arts teacher has been murdered and he reenters the spy craft world to find the killer. An assassination plot is uncovered and 'the twist' is that the teacher's sultry daughter hooks up with the spy and seems to have legitimate feelings for him. Alas, she's only spying on him for a corrupt United States senator. The fight scenes were a mix of Shotokan Karate, Hapkido, Taekwondo and barely believable; with Wesley Snipes and in AI Mode I learned that the actor, Wesley Snipes holds a 5th-degree black belt in Shotokan Karate and a black belt in Taekwondo.  Watched 'A FATHER'S MIRACLE' (Netflix). However, it definitely hits better on an empty stomach, but an aerobic workout energizes the effect. I'm a 'Wake & Bake'  kinda guy.     Began a Thai 'Blood/Guts/Action/Adventure', but dropped it within minutes. 'One Thumb Down' and on to something a bit more deep. Watched 'MASS' (Netflix).  The parents of a school shooter meet with the parents of one of the boys that he shot and killed. Set during the 20's a sex researcher and a few of his pseudo-intellectual buddies (and two sexy female stenographers) have rambling conversations that attempt to probe the depths of human sexuality. The movie had almost nothing to do with winning a lottery. A Filipino man's wife dies and he gambles away his money and owes a bundle to the local mob. His adult daughter finally leaves when men with guns threaten her father and she resettles in Australia. He's dying of a strange disease and his daughter (a nurse) becomes his caregiver. This was sappy in the extreme and it seemed like his new millions had zero impact on his life and barely mentioned in the film. A young girl's brother is executed in Taiwan during the 1950s and she travels to the big city to retrieve his body for burial. She gets tricked by the locals, but manages to win them over. A pleasant 'feel good' kind of a film that was also a complete immersion in the culture of the time.  'The tale within the tale'- Fog vs. Cloud: the mission is to become part of the scenery.
