Sa 9/19/26

Sa 9/19/26 810am (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 840am (4-B: Red Congolese). 1pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 430pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 530pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 825pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack).  Up 710am: Cloudy & muggy with temps to about 90. Temperatures will drop almost thirty degrees on Monday.  I cleared out the dying pansies from the porch planter, but the ones under the bedroom windows are still going.  ***The AI Mode tab is gone from the homepage. I learned that if you hover over the far right of the search bar and click, the search will be through AI Mode. Nobody mentioned this online.   Watched 'WINDOWS ON THE WORLD' (Hoopla). Dad worked at the Twin Towers on 9/11 and his son travels from Mexico to NYC to find out if he survived. He finds dad, but the older man admits that he abandoned his Mexican family and that he wanted to live in the states. Then he decides to return to Mexico and the son decides to stay. Much of the story is beyond plausible, but inc...

Fr 9/18/26

Fr 9/18/26 735am (4-B: Green Crack). 930am (4-B: Red Congolese). 1240pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 535pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 825pm (4-B: Green Crack).  Up 645am: Cloudy & muggy with temps to upper 80's. {windows open until 1130am}. When I opened the living room PC I got the same prompt to 'restart'. I can't believe I took the risk, but no problems and I will call the computer guys {Tech2Door} as soon as they open and  schedule a visit.  Finished 'JUST ONE LOOK' (Netflix). The title refers to the name of a song. The sister of a band member orchestrated the murders and kidnappings so that she could get the royalties from the band's hit, 'Just One Look'. The band's name is 'LAAD' and in Polish it means 'order & harmony'. Although the series was a bit confusing, it was an engaging and compelling drama.  Began 'TEENAGE WASTELAND' (Netflix). In the early 90's a high school teacher of 'Electronic English' de...

Th 9/17/26- Computer Problems

Th 9/17/26- Computer Problems 730am (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 850am (4-B: Green Crack).  1230pm (GB :6/ Green Crack). 440pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 530pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). {no weed} Up 640am: Sunny & hot with temps to lower 90's and there's a Heat Advisory in effect. Watched 'SAINT OMER' (Kanopy). It's a look at 'Infanticide', displaced persons, and motherhood within the parameter of a courtroom drama. Very much an Art Film and the acting is mesmerizing, but it's more than a little confusing. The tall, strikingly elegant female character who is also pregnant and experiencing the revelations of the trial seems tacked on to the primary storyline. The defendant lived in southeastern Paris near Bois de Vincennes; a big park (hiking, biking, botanical garden) just off the beltway. The baby is left on the beach at the coastal town of Berck-sur-Mer, France. This is in southwestern France not too far from Le Treport on the Spanish border. "91" Met...

We 9/16/26

We 9/16/26 730am (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 820am (4-B: Red Congolese). 945am (3-B: Red Congolese). 1220pm (GB: 6/ Green Crack). 535pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 825pm (GB: 5/a mix of Green & Red).  Up 640am: Light showers early, then cloudy/ humid with temps to almost 90. {windows open till 9am}. Watched 'A CRIME STORY' (Hoopla). Employees at a budget motel on the outskirts of Las Vegas become drug dealers and get targeted by Italian, Russian, local mobsters, and the law. Every cliche in the books and no better than a very well done student film. The motel where most of the action takes place is at the 'historic' EL RANCHO BOULDER MOTEL that's in Boulder City, Nevada. That's about 25 miles southeast of Las Vegas.   Finished 'AVERAGE JOE' (Netflix). An unsatisfying ending, but it leaves the door wide open for a second season. From AI Mode: The second season the story shifts from Pittsburgh to (of all places?) Cape Town, South Africa. This was originally on ...

Tu 9/15/26

Tu 9/15/26 745am (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 1155am (GB: 4/ Red Congolese). 140pm (4-B: Red Congolese). 430pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 530pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 820pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese).  Up 7am: A sunny morning with the threat of storms this afternoon with temps to low 90's.  Watched 'CALL MY AGENT! THE MOVIE' (Netflix). A fairly humorous look at the business of making a French movie. Everything from actors' temper tantrums, to creative methods of financing and even the weather conspire to wreck the project; an interesting scene where the shoot is flooded when a nearby dam breaks. Another excellent reason that national comedy films don't resonate with international audiences. "77" Metascore and I learned that it's a reworking of a French television series. "74' is about where I'd put it. More 'ALLEGEDLY' (Netflix). A young woman is beaten to death in Cabo San Lucas and her autopsy reads 'Alcohol Poisoning'. Huh? Mexican La...

Mo 9/14/26

Mo 9/14/26 750am (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 835am (6-B: Green Crack). 925am (GB: 4/ Green Crack). 12pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese).  535pm (GB: 6/ Green Crack). 820pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese).  Up 7am: A mix of sun & clouds with temps to about 80. ***When I opened 'Cheese Stands Alone' the entries ended on Fr 9/11/26. I added the two missing days, but why/how did this happen?   Finished 'OASIS' (Netflix). A slick and unfulfilling ending, but maybe a new season? Everyone is happy, healthy, sexy, and rich and the bad guy was the female head of the police. This was just a little too 'Agatha Christie' to be memorable.  ***I checked the calendar and there was no entry for my upcoming doctor's appointment. I called Dr. Martinek's office and got the details and re-entered. I bet I did all of this from the phone and it didn't register on the PC calendar.*** 230pm on October 5th at the west campus on sixth street***.  Paid Card More 'AVERAGE JOE' (Netflix)...

Su 9/13/26

Su 9/13/26 845am (GB: 5/ Durban Poison). 940am (4-B: Durban Poison). 1220pm (GB- 5/ Durban Poison). 215pm (3-B: Durban Poison). 435pm (GB: 5/ Red Congolese). 530pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 820pm (GB: 6/ Red Congolese).  Up 730am: Partly cloudy with temps to about 80. Weekly Cleaning Watched 'WILD AT HEART' (Amazon Prime). I must have seen this classic from 1990, but I don't remember any of it. It's the torrid love affair between 'a robber and a manslaughterer' and a young woman who 'never says 'No' to Love'. Lynch creates a quirky hyper-realism that's painstakingly and intentionally hilarious; with Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, Willem Dafoe, Crispin Glover, Diane Ladd, Isabella Rossellini, Harry Dean Stanton. Directed by David Lynch..."The whole world's wild at heart and weird on top". Nominated for 1 Oscar; 5 wins & 13 nominations. "52" Metascore and I would happily go to "91". The range was from "90...
