It was chock full of historical incidents that I had never heard of. She was from an Indian political dynasty. She 'stood off' the navy of the United States in the creation of Bangladesh. She and her son enacted a 'State of Emergency' that allowed her to shut down all opposition and run the country with an iron fist. An Indian woman's husband has died and the family has gathered for his 13 day Hindu cremation.  It's odd that it's never revealed how the man died and although the widow learns that he had a girlfriend, it's OK. An uptight 'salaryman' working for a large Japanese corporation is sent to Montana to check out a recently acquired ranch. Either he finds a way to increase profits or the whole operation will be sold to the highest bidder. He knows nothing of how a ranch is run, and it's a classic 'fish out of water' tale until he learns to become 'one of the guys'.
