The city of Palmyra was a huge Roman city on the Silk Road dating to 2000 BC.  The ruins were much bigger and more stunning than those in Italy. 1030am- 1115am: We switched the PC's and determined that it was the TV. I ordered a TV from Walmart and it should be delivered by tonight at 10pm {it said 3 hrs when I placed the order}.  Chrisitian will return at 1pm on Monday to install the TV and rehook the PC. Watched the first episode of 'MURDER WITH MY HUSBAND' (Netflix)- A young woman from Kansas is murdered while working at a municipal pool. Watched 'I SWEAR' (Netflix). A difficult, yet skillfully presented film about Tourette's Syndrome. This could have been a farce, but it's an insightful look at what it would be like to have the condition and the film doesn't ignore or gloss over the reactions of 'normal' people. The Theme: How do you get the general population to recognize that the condition is real and that nobody is faking?  John Davidson lived in Galashiels, Scotland which is about 35 miles southeast of Edinburgh, Scotland. Cloudy with temps to upper 60's. Watched 'ILL MANORS' (Hoopla). It's a film directed by an English Rap star (Ben Drew AKA 'Plan B') who conjures the most negative presentation of urban life possible. It features an almost absurd amount of drugs, prostitutes, violence, poverty, and random deaths. Highlight:  An infant is dropped from a second floor window to escape a fire. The baby is saved, but the 'dropper' must jump and he dies. The film's tone is so 'real' that the street vernacular wasn't even close to the actual dialogue and the subtitles lagged behind by about ten seconds. This made them completely useless. The guy drives a white pickup and leaves for work very early. 940am: I walked over and there were too many people and I just walked back home.  Watched 'HEEL' (Kanopy). A young hooligan is snatched off the streets of London and whisked away to a manor house in a very remote area of the country. The family that kidnapped the thug only wanted to change his antisocial attitudes and mold him into a model citizen worthy of their love. The movie ends with the reformed thug returning to the site of his imprisonment. He is so taken with 'the program' that he brings an unconscious lady friend...
