A woman learns that her son has terminal leukemia and when he is refused a bone marrow transplant,  she gets a couple of handguns and holds the entire hospital hostage. It's a silly premise and not very believable. Filmed in the 'Ile-de-France' which is located in the north-central part of France, surrounding the capital city of Paris. More 'BLOOD SACRIFICE' (Netflix). This is definitely one of the better 'Nordic Noir' genre films. I finished episode #3 and only two remain. Watched 'SENTIMENTAL VALUE' (Kanopy). It's an ingenious Art Film about the relationship between a famous movie director and his two daughters who are both acclaimed actresses. Dad wants his eldest daughter to play a part in his new film, but she refuses because of the emotional turmoil that it would cause. The director has hired a new actress to play the part, but even she realizes that it just won't work; with Renate Reinsve (THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD), Stellan Skarsgard, Elle Fanning. An affluent Jewish boy becomes friends with a black kid from foster care and emotional mayhem ensues. The theme is that the deck is stacked and somehow you must defend your entitlements yet never give in to racists and bullies; with Anne Hathaway, Jeremy Strong, Anthony Hopkins, Jessica Chastain (as Maryanne Trump). It's a tepid Police Procedural about a series of kidnappings of young boys that occurred in New Jersey. But, 'The Whisper Man' is in jail, so who is the copycat? It's none other than the son of the original serial killer. The film boasts a stellar cast, but the script was just too weak and lacked any originality; with Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan, Adam Scott, Michael Keaton. "52" Metascore and I would go to "73". The movie begins with a woman jumping off a bridge into a large body of water. In flashbacks we learn that she has been 'missing' for over two years and started a new family. Her old 'family' was involved in human trafficking and it was her ex-mother in law who was 'rotten to the core'. Filmed in Tysnes, Norway with additional work in Sunnhordland and Hardanger. This area is in southwestern Norway along the North Sea.
