Tu 5/14/19- New Mattress
Tu 5/14/19
Up 640 am; mostly sunny and warmer; to 70.
Watched Netflix disc, 'COLUMBUS' The small city of Columbus, Indiana is an unlikely mecca for world-class architecture, yet this is the setting for this touching film about relationships. A famous Korean architectural scholar has had a stroke and his his son is forced interrupt his life to stay with his estranged and ailing father. He meets a young girl who is also stuck in the town to help her recovering drug addict mother. These two characters interact against the wonderful backdrop of the architecture of the city. Very much an art film, but very compelling.
Decided that I'd use the money from the insurance policy and the remote start for a bed and a home entertainment center. Checked Verlo and the other bed shop near Best Buy and Sundown One, and will visit them after I head over to Green to get the check, a car wash, and some info about the idiot light. I learned that the light is supposed to be 'on'. It only goes off when someone is in the passenger seat.
Watched 'HIGHER GROUND' (Amazon Prime) Vera Farmiga stars and directs the story of a woman who has lived for many years as a married woman and mother in the evangelical faith, and then grows to find this world too constricting. Checking the internet I learned that when I first saw this film it was near the day that Jonas was born and had I placed the post from Surprise, AZ- visiting the old man.
I ordered a collection of essays about women who decide to leave 'extreme religions' from Amazon.
145pm: To Green for the check/info/car wash. Then maybe to the two mattress shops and Sundown One. The 'Y' or Planet Fitness later?
That was the plan, but I spent far too long at Verlo Mattress. The kid was knowledgeable and engaging, but the stuff was a tad too pricey. I realize that they have a shop on the premises, but I don't think that I'm that picky. I don't have any problems that would make me need an expensive mattress. Usually I'm 'senses blurred' when I hit the pillow anyway. They had two that I was considering; $971 and $1.200. We talked about tattoos as well, and he and his family are big fans of the shop at Jefferson and Bruns.
I almost couldn't find the mattress shop near Best Buy, and I almost gave up. I was very mattress weary, but I finally found it. This guy was just as personable, and all of his stuff was marked way down for Memorial Day! They don't come out and take your mattress and fix it up, but they charge you $90 and you get a brand new one. I don't think that I would be that picky, so I saved almost a hundred bucks.
I had planned to head to Sundown One after mattress shopping, but I was far, far too weary.
To Planet Fitness around 645pm. 45" Walk (JAILBIRDS). 45" Cross (THE SOCIETY). 30" Walk (finished the first hour long episode of 'THE SOCIETY').
Home to soak and began 'THE LEAVERS'- this month's selection for the book club, and listened to Live Roxy Music.
The next 'BOSCH' (Amazon Prime), then more of ' MY LAST YEARS WITH THE NUNS'.
