Watched 'SPARTAN' (Hoopla). PREMISE: The president's daughter is kidnapped by a human trafficking operation while attending college in Boston. The president was visiting Boston to see a call girl and needed his daughter's secret service detail. Due to the lack of security his daughter was abducted. The administration releases a fake report that the president's daughter died in a boating accident fearing that it would come out that the president was a frequenter of prostitutes and he would lose the presidency. The script is sharp & military precise and feels 'hyper-real'; with Val Kilmer, Tia Texada, Derek Luke, Kristin Bell (as the president's daughter). Written and directed by David Mamet. "60" Metascore and I would boost that to "77". 

Began 'GANGS OF NEW YORK' (Kanopy). I shut it down with an hour and 20 minutes remaining and I'll finish it tonight. I'd seen it before, but had forgotten how powerful it was and fairly accurate historically... "The appearance of the law must be upheld especially while it's being broken".

1125am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then visit County Market for groceries and maybe some plants for the front. Then reading and a late walk to Washington Park.

Finished SAM TALLENT on a comedy podcast and began CHRIS DISTEFAN0 & YANNIS PAPPAS on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'. .

Finished 'GANGS OF NEW YORK' (Kanopy). Great cast and a terrific film. Nominated for 10 Oscars; 50 wins & 135 nominations. "72" Metascore and I would boost that to "89".

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.
