Watched 'PREPARATION FOR THE NEXT LIFE' (Amazon Prime). It's a contemporary Love Story drenched in 'Kitchen Sink Realism' about a young man suffering from PTSD and a young woman who is in the country illegally. It's the portrait of a doomed relationship in a strata of American society that you don't often see. Immigrants are treated as slaves, yet they have the same ordinary dreams as people who are free. "80" Metascore and I'd go to "84". 

Finished 'THE MENTEN FILES' (Amazon Prime). The wealthy and well connected Nazi art thief splits to avoid arrest. I guess this was the first season of a continuing series and I hope I'm notified if Amazon gets the next offering. 

Began 'THE RISE AND FALL OF VERSAILLES' (Amazon Prime). I watched the first 49 minutes and I'll probably be back. Louis IVX was the French ruler during the late 1600's and he chose the site where his father had a hunting lodge. He insisted that this building would be part of the new structure.

Just after I sent the email I noticed a utility truck parked in front of the fireplug out front. They are here to repair the light in the back of the yard next door. I have been meaning to mention this to the guy next door, but I never see him. Great news.

Began 'TELL ME YOUR NAME' (Amazon Prime). I shut it down 17 minutes into the second episode. It's about a group of Moroccans who immigrate to a rural area near a village in Spain. They are Muslim and when they begin to build a prayer room at the site of an abandoned Catholic church they unleash demonic beings or stumble upon an entrance to another reality(?). It's mentioned that a kilo of hash would cost $50,000 pesetas which is $357.40 usd.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.
