Tu 11/7/17- Black Moon; final visit on the sleeve
Tu 11/7/17
Last night's film,'1945- THE SAVAGE PEACE' ("Enjoy the war for the peace will be savage") was an interesting footnote to WWII Atrocities not involving the holocaust; Czech extermination/ethnic cleansing of Sudeten Germans. This is the reason that there should be some kind of united effort by all major religions to END WAR. The very nature of war makes people act and react like savages and this is anathema to ALL ethical philosophies and religions. Seems like humans could find some obvious common ground.
4am-5am Reading ROGUE LAWYER. Up 5am, raw, windy, mostly sunny- to high 40's.
620AM-9am; ZEBRAHEAD (dir. Oliver Stone). This film really showcases the acting talent of Michael Rappaport, but the film is not nearly as good as Spike Lee's, DO THE RIGHT THING. But, ya gotta admit- it's a very difficult subject, and arealistic portrayal of race in America is practically taboo. 930am; LONG SHOT (40"). Cut it off ten minutes from the end so that I could squeeze in a workout before the tattoo.
I decided to get in a workout before the 2pm appointment at Black Moon, and on the machines at Planet Fitness just before 10am. 30" Walk. 3.5/0. 45" Recumbent Bike (THE ROGUE LAWYER). 45" Cross. 30" Recumbent Bike (read). 30" Cross. No Machines.
Home for a shower, a cup of instant, and at the studio 155pm. The session lasted about 50", and it stung like Hell! The tattoo is now a comprehensive sleeve, and I like it. When I took off the bandage two hours later I was a little taken aback by the swelling, but I can testify that there was quite a bit of trauma to that area. I gave him a check for a hundred bucks (what he asked for) and I gave him a twenty dollar bill as a tip. Hard to read what he felt about the tattoo and the money. When I walked in he was watching a video about a 200 mile bicycle road race in Kansas.
I left the studio at 2pm and headed for Barnes and Noble. I wanted to get the trade paperback of HILLBILLY ELEGY, but the clerk said that it was only available in hardback for $27. "You can keep it"! I had two double shots of espresso; 2 cups, 2 shots in a cup for four and a quarter....zipping right along. The price of the books was outrageous that I lost interest and just walked out.
Home to finish THE ROGUE LAWYER and began this month's selection for the Contemporary Book Club, THE ATOMIC WEIGHT OF LOVE. Watching THE DOORS- WHEN YOU'RE STRANGE.
