Awake about 5am and reading the phone till 6am.
Wrote up KEEP QUIET- Lisa Scottoline for the blog.
710am; 'LOST IN PARIS' (Netflix disc) Martha is eighty-eight and lives in Paris. She's about to be placed in a nursing home against her wishes, and her niece, Fiona, comes from Canada to assist- but, where is Martha, and can the homeless man, Dom help? European burlesque; very much like Chaplin or Harold Lloyd; physical comedy, and Fiona's character owes much to the comic book character, Olive Oil.
940am; finish CALIFORNIA DREAMS that I started yesterday at Planet Fitness. Flat and deadpan, yet still enjoyable. Actors acting like non-actors in a suburban California desert wasteland... "We gotta get out of this place, if it's the last thing we ever do".
1145am reading; later to get the license cleared up, mail the disc, hit FitClub South, and County Market. And, it's already mid 70's with a breeze; windows open for the first time this season!
115pm to the license place and only $107 and I got new plates. They couldn't tell me if there would be any penalty, that will be decided at the court date.
I had no tools to install the plates, so I took a shot in the dark and stopped at the quick lube place at 4th and Wabash, and the guy agreed to do it. The back plates were a bitch, and it would have been way over my head, but he got them on. I gave him five bucks- couldn't tell if he was pleased or insulted.
45" Best Cross (David Letterman interview with J-Z; Netflix). 45" Recumbent Bike (finished interview/ FALLET). 45" Cross. (FALLET). 30" Walk. 3.3-3.5/0; THE CHI. 30" Bike (THE CHI).
$47 at County Market on south sixth.
Home to read DEADWOOD on the couch and listen to AGARTHA; 45".
Will finish '6 BALLOONS' (Netflix). A little heavy on the moralizing; the metaphor of 'the boat' and the 'driver of the boat' wears thin. You can only 'do you', and the girl in the movie is trying 'to do' her brother, and this is impossible.
