Up 630am; the heat and humidity are bearing down. Into the 80's by 10am, and more humidity and higher temps to follow. AC in the picture for sure- temps to the 90's for the next several days.
Wrote up 'PSTALEMATE' for the blog, and I sent this review to Amazon books;
"The premise of this sub-standard SciFi novel is that there is a dire downside to the possession of extrasensory abilities. Psychics are prone to insanity and suicide, and there seems to be an evil, outside entity behind the madness, and it's up to Harry Bronson to find the truth.
That's the framework of the plot, and with a decent writer, something could most definitely be crafted. Yet this book is just one dense, joyless paragraph after another. There is a scene between Ellen and Harry that skirt the issue of childhood sexually that couldn't be handled more clumsily. For an idea with potential for maximum shock value, the entire incident just remains inert and only slightly confusing.
This could have been something terrific- an examination of precognition vs. free will and much more, yet the wonderful ideas are smothered under a blanket of grim and humorless prose.
I couldn't have been more dissatisfied."
Then watched Netflix disc, 'ABOUT ELLY'. A skillfully told Iranian film about a group of people who go to the seaside for a weekend getaway. Elly disappears, and is presumed drowned, and they hatch an elaborate explanation that causes unintended consequences.
Ordered a beard trimmer on Amazon Prime; got free shipping and it was only twenty bucks- delivery by Tuesday!
And, finally the last episode of 'SAFE'. This was the best of the eight segments, and almost good enough to change my thoughts on the work, but not quite.
Prime Music vs. Prime Music Unlimited; what a ripoff because most of what I want is in 'Unlimited'.

In the tub, finished KEEP THE CHANGE- THOMAS MCGUANE and began a WWII German/ French police thriller).
Watching an HBO documentary on Amazon Prime called, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH AUNT DIANE. A hauntingly strange documentary that leaves the central question unanswered. How could Diane drink ten drinks and smoke pot between 930am and 1pm, and drive the mini-van on an inter-state highwigh with several children in the vehicle? It does seem so wildly out of character that even I had trouble believing it. Demon possession seems like a more rational explanation.
