We 5/27/18- Dick Van Dyke/ Book Club

Up 6am; sixties early, to mid 80's and sunny.

Watched 'COCAINE ANGEL' (Amazon Prime). Alcoholic/ junkie in Jacksonville, Florida takes us down some fairly predictable paths; not bad, but clearly no new ground broken. 

Around 9am and I began prepping for the meeting, and at 1030am I called Dick Van Dyke to find out where I was on the list. He said, "1130am to 130pm", so I hit the streets and did a jog for the first time in ages. Down Westview/ up Fairview/ Inter/ Oak/ Park/ Green- 33". Ankles and knees held up surprisingly well.

Repairman called and arrived 1145am. A huge chunk of ice had formed and clogged the return air to the fridge. The freezer does the cooling, and then the cold air is pushed up into the fridge. Because this vent was blogged, no cool air. It took about an hour and wa $110.  A lot to melt ice, but I could have never done it.

On the machines at FitClub West 125pm. 45" Octane (DRY- PJ Harvey). 45" Recumbent Bike (RAY DONOVAN/ some 'SMILE'). 45" Cross. Legs/ Chest/ Biceps. 15" Walk. 

Home to read a bit of THE NARROWS, then showered and left for the meeting at 520pm. Picked up cds by Lydia Loveless, Los Lobos, and Jenny Lewis.

Most of the book club hated the book, but I loved it. A contentious discussion. 

Got a Big Natty Buddy at the gas station at Chatham and Monroe, and will watch 'LIPSTICK & LIQUOR' (Amazon Prime). Profiles of a couple of alcoholic suburban women, but you can only take anecdotal evidence so far.

Tried to copy the three cds on blank dvd discs, and it wouldn't work.

Down the beery rabbit hole....Surprised (shocked!) to see a new blood blister on the left side of my mouth. Dentist vs. Specialist?

Th 10/2/25- WYNK

 Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
