Up 815am; cloudy and rain should begin by afternoon and continues, off and on, for the next couple of days- Only in the seventies.
Watched 'SAFE HOUSE' (Amazon Prime) Set in New Zealand and 'inspired' by a real event. A woman and her two children are placed in protective custody, but it turns into a bungled police operation, and they're neither protected or safe. The set design and photography are far superior than the actual story. Odd.
Then, 'PASS OVER' (Amazon Prime) The play focuses on two Black men, Moses and Kitch, who stand on a desolate Chicago street corner as they metaphorically attempt to 'pass over' to the promised land while two symbols of White Supremacy, Master and Ossifer, block their way; An artistic mix of poetry, cinema, and stage-play. The ending really deconstructs the subliminal meaning of 'Make American Great Again'.
Then, 'SHADOWS OF LIBERTY' (Amazon Prime) Fifty minutes about the dire consequences of having only five mega-corporations decide what is and what is not 'News' in America. A damning representation of 'The Free Market' that 'Profit' should never be allowed to be more important than 'Truth'.
About 230pm I called Peggy/ Kenny and learned that I would have to pay for the materials and the $500 was labor only. She said to call Cutting Edge for mulch info, but I found that they don't deliver or sell in bulk. This woman gave me the number of the nursery on south Chatham, and they gave me a formula for figuring how much that I'd need. I went outside, made some measurements, but decided that I should go see them. I took the gym bag so that I could hit LA Fitness when finished. I think that I've decided that it would be far too expensive- There's almost $500 in materials! I think I'll call Peggy/ Kenny and just have them do a Fall Cleanup and trim the trees. I'll see what I can do with just super-heavy weed killer on the path behind the house.
430pm on the machines at LA Fitness. 45" Walk (HOMELAND). 45" Recumbent Bike (read THE NIGHT MANAGER/ 'Slug Line'- John Hiatt). 45" Cross (HOMELAND). 45" Bike (HOMELAND- 2 episodes). 30" Cross. Sauna/ whirlpool/ one lap in the pool.
Home around 940pm.
Watched 'THE DEVIL AND DANIEL JOHNSTON' (Amazon Prime); 2hrs. A young artist/ folk singer loses his mind, but not his talent.
