God it's great to be home! Last night after the bath and 'Camel Club' I stayed upstairs so that I could reacquaint myself with 'the street'. I didn't finish the Travolta film (not that good)- I'll re-finish it after this morning's film, and I woke up in the chair about midnight.
Today, up at 5am and it was in the mid 40's, and only to the upper fifties later this afternoon.
Shaved beard- I went to use the trimmer, but the 'comb' wasn't on the device, so the trimmer removed a large section of beard. I could have gone with a mustache or sideburns, but decided to make a clean break.
Watched Netflix disc, 'SOLACE'. Smart and well-written Police/ Serial Killer/ Thriller. Two FBI agents need help on a serial killer case, and they ask a retired and reclusive psychic who had a history with the agency. The kicker is that the killer is also a psychic and possibly has a higher ability than the FBI's man. Anthony Hopkins plays the reclusive psychic and Colin Farrell is 'The Angel of Death'.
Flickering issue is back with a vengeance. I think that the cord needs to be replaced. When I jiggle the cord, fade to black- then it comes back.
Re-watched the last half of 'I AM WRATH'. Corny and predictable.
11am-Walked to Dollar Store at Fairhills for dryer sheets and incense. Will drive to LA Fitness later, then over to Best Buy for monitor/ PC cord. Home before noon with four packs of incense, the dryer sheets, and a ten pack of double A batteries (mailed the disc at the Fairhills box).
Read for over an hour in the living room and about 2pm in the Accord Best Buy to get a replacement cord for the PC/ Monitor hookup for the living room computer. No weekly cleaning, but I wasn't here most of the week.
All TV/ Monitor hookups are the same, but there are two varieties of socket ends. Since they had both, I bought them and told the guy I would bring the one that didn't work back for a refund- no problem.
245pm on the machines at LA Fitness. 45" Walk (COLD JUSTICE). 45" Recumbent Bike (read THE CROCODILE BIRD that I began this morning in the living room/ listened to a live Calexico concert on Hoopla). 45" Cross (Cold Justice). 45" Bike (COLD JUSTICE- 2 episodes this afternoon). 30" Cross (GLOW). Whirlpool- 10"/ Steam Room- 5".
When I got home I hooked the proper cord to the PC and monitor. Didn't take too long or cause any problems (a little difficult making the cords fit the sockets), and it looks like the problem is behind me. Solid as a rock! Will watch 'OZARKS' upstairs tonight.
Called Lannie and told her that I found her old business card in the book that I started this morning. Her name is 'Lanvia J. Ward, RN'. It was on the card and this evening I asked her how she got that name. I thought it was Scandinavian since she's from The Dakotas, but she's actually named after a kind of soap that her father liked. How weird- that's almost as odd as, 'Tylenol Jones'.
About 830pm- during 'OZARKS'- I went downstairs and fired up the PC for the first time since the trip. No problems getting online, but I switched the WiFi Card to a different socket and the 'Internet Speed' Jumped from in the 20's back to the high 60's and almost to 70. It seems that the Dropbox was working in the background, but why? Nothing on this PC had anything at all to do with the photos shot on the phone during the trip, and the uploads to the Dropbox site. This should have already been processed. But, things are fine downstairs on the PC....
Then, another 'ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK'
