Up 615am; another bright and sunny day to the high fifties.
Watched Netflix disc, 'KNIFE IN THE WATER'. Roman Polanski's debut from 1962. A couple picks up a hitchhiker and they all go for a 24 hour sailboat ride on a Polish lake. The young man falls overboard, the couple can't find him, the older man swims to shore to alert the authorities. In the meantime, the young man swims back to the boat- he had been hiding behind a buoy- has sex with the girl, and they sail back to the starting point. He leaves along the shoreline before they dock, and then the older man meets the girl. She tells him what happened, admits to cheating, but he doesn't seem to believe her about whether the young man is dead or alive or any of her version of the events. The film ends as he stops the car in front of the sign pointing to the police station.
Then, 'I AM INNOCENT'(Netflix) A New Zealand science teacher is charged with indecent assault when I young girl says that he 'rubbed her breasts' when he examined her for tonsillitis. The most shocking aspect of the case was that a witness was present during the examination and he noticed nothing unusual, but criminal charges were still made nearly two years after the incident.
Watched the last hour of 'PASSING THROUGH' (Amazon Prime). About an Art Collective on skid row, downtown Los Angeles.
1pm- Reading 'THE CROCODILE BIRD'; 230pm to Planet Fitness and Wabash PO.
45" Walk (HUMANS). 45" Recumbent Bike (read THE CROCODILE BIRD/ listened to THE ALABAMA SHAKES; Amazon Music). 45" Cross (HUMANS). 45" Bike (began first episode of 'THE DESIGNATED SURVIVOR'). 30" Bike (DESIGNATED SURVIVOR).
Home to soak and listen to a tape of the early Mekons/ more Ruth Rendell.
Watched the first episode of season #2- ' MAKING A MURDERER. I think that the 'blood splatter evidence' expert is a little questionable. Her 'expert' would be negated by another 'expert', but that's not to say that she's not right, but I'm still not convinced that I know what really happened.
Then, 'HIP HOP EVOLUTION' (Netlfix).I guess I like the 'old school' stuff more than I thought.
