Up 630am; cloudy and damp with temps from the thirties to the low fifties.

Wrote up 'THE STRANGER' by Harlan Coben for the blog.

Watched 'THE LONG RIDERS' (Amazon Prime). Classic Western by Walter Hill and the 'hook' is that the Younger/ James Gang is played by actors who are brothers; Keach/ Carradine/ Quaid. Northfield, MN. bank robbery scene is brilliant; the gang on horses jump through a plate glass storefront to escape a hail of bullets.

Reading Greg Iles by noon; 115pm to FitClub West. 45" Octane (Allman Bros. Fillmore East). 45" Walk (TV all workout). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. Legs/ Chest/ Biceps. 30" Old Style Cross.

Home to read for 30" on the couch, then in to soak/ more Iles/ 'AFTER THE GOLD RUSH- Neil Young'.

'HOT TUB TIME MACHINE' (Amazon Prime) for tonight. Loony and cheesy, but has an off-beat appeal; surprised to see that John Cusak was in it, and shocked to see the guy from, 'I'M DYING UP HERE' (the kid that lands a role on a sitcom and becomes typecast as 'the mailman').

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Another episode of 'I'M DYING UP HERE', and then another 'GLOW'. 250PM- Drove to FitClub West, then after the workout to the County Market on south sixth for beer and some groceries- and a dependable can opener!  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
