Up 5am; Frigid!! Low teens to low twenties and zero-ish wind chills .
Watched 'LEAVING LAS VEGAS' (Xfinity) Nicholas Cage and Elizabeth Shue in a classic love story set against the ravages of acute alcoholism. The film doesn't make you want to get wasted, but makes you wish you had a love like Ben and Sera. 'THE WHOLE YEAR INN'/ THE HOLE YOU'RE IN'; Lou Rawls in a small cameo role as a cabbie.
Then, 'ACRIMONY' (Xfinity) Taraji P. Henson ('PROUD MARY) stars in a Tyler Perry film about a woman scorned. Melinda meets a boy and falls in love during college. Robert has been going to school and developing a battery that charges itself, and she marries him and bankrolls his research during twenty years of marriage. They divorce just before he sells his invention for millions, and then she goes on a rampage because she feels cheated out of the life that should have been hers. Litigation, attempted murder, and death ensue. Not a bad film, but only because Taraji P. Henson pretty much carries the show.
1130am- PC is 'Off' and I'll begin the Mark Haddon novel that I put on Kindle this morning. Becky recommended this last night because it deals with an autistic character, but the story seems familiar. We might have read it in the group- LA Fitness later.
12pm on the machines at LA Fitness. 45" Walk (GOOD GIRLS). 45" Recumbent Bike (read 'THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT TIME...On Kindle from the library/ listened to Live Dead on Hoopla). 45" Cross (GOOD GIRLS). 45" Bike (read/ Dead). 30" Cross (IN TREATMENT).
Home to read downstairs about the autistic (on the spectrum) kid from Swindon and listened to a 1989 tape of Mofungo- End Of The World Part II).
In the tub for more reading and Sam & Dave and British Dance from the 80's.
'FYRE- THE GREATEST PARTY THAT NEVER HAPPENED' (Netflix) Crooked entrepreneur, Billy McFarland, launched a Bahamian luxury rockfest in the spring of 2017 aimed at ritzy clientele, and it's all a hoax. Super models and luxury accommodations were bought and paid for, but they didn't exist. In the end, McFarland got a six year sentence and forfeited $26 million. Billy sounds a lot like The Donald.
