Up 7am; This is considered sleeping in? Overcast with temps in the upper twenties. Rain predicted to begin late this morning and lasting all night- to high 30's.
Then watched, 'THIS IS CONGO' (Xfinity) A documentary about wars in the Congo as seen from the prospective of a Congolese Colonel fighting with his men on the Eastern edge of the country near the city of Goma. He's young, ambitious, and is later murdered by members of his own staff. These wars have been going on for decades with no end in sight, and the people are forced to accept in fear and poverty as a way of life. The film was a fascinating eye-opener.
Then, 'PROUD MARY' Black female enforcer for a Bostonian organized crime family saves a young black boy from a mob boss; action packed and surprisingly well written if a tad hard to believe- nice vintage soundtrack.
1pm on the machines at the 'Y'. 45" Walk (Reality TV all workout). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. 40" Bike (Talked to the grumpy guy that's always on the upright bikes about the lack of volume. He said that he had complained, the guy was working on it last week, but no results. I said, "They're paying Direct TV, so they should have them make it work"). 35" Cross.
When I went to get my coat, I couldn't find it. It was on a completely different rack....I think I'll be locking my coat in the locker room from now on.
Home to read more 'EXIT WOUNDS' and listen to 80's South African Music downstairs. Then, in the tub with more Westerman and VAN MORRISON.
Will begin, 'Sicario: Day of the Soldado' (Xfinity) so that I can finish it tomorrow morning and still have time to scan the featured book before the meeting.
An hour left on this fascinating film, switched to an early 'SOPRANOS' (Xfinity) Many of the early episodes are 'pay'...Why? Xfinity pisses me off because the 'Free' filter doesn't really work all of the time.
Had some trouble with the Internet connection. Had to put the 'card' in the adjacent slot, then it worked fine. When I shutdown and put the PC in 'Sleep' I noticed that the Internet feed dropped off. I put the computer in 'Off' and will see what happens tomorrow.
