Tu 1/29/19

Up 650am; bright and sunny with frigid temps and far below zero wind chills, and tomorrow it will be even colder! It's so cold that school is cancelled.....FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS.

Watched 'CHURCHILL' (Xfinity) (Brian Cox/ Miranda Richardson)  Some fine acting, but apparently the premise of the film is not even close to being historically accurate. Winston Churchill WAS NOT against the Allied Invasion at Normandy, and this is the biggest bullet point of the film. It is true that a couple of years before 'Operation Overlord', Churchill was doubtful, but by 'D-Day' he was completely on-board with the plan. Cox, however, does a good job portraying Churchill's battle with depression (The Black Dog) and Richardson, as his wife, is both believable and inspiring, yet it's too bad that the film was so historically inaccurate.

Then, 'LOST IN THE SUN' (Amazon Prime) Another semi-sweet surprise.  A stranger picks up a teenage boy right after his mother's funeral and says that he will take him to his grandmother's farm in New Mexico where the boy is to live. The stranger is a jail bird and they embark on a series of robberies along the way, and a bond develops. 'The Reveal' is that the stranger is really the boy's long lost father. The film was shot in some very rural towns in western Texas (La Grange, TX from  ZZ Top), and the director is known for his documentaries and work on The Food Channel.

Watched the end of the 'AMERICAN GODS' that I began last night, and then watched a video about what the show means, the gods that are profiled on the show, and about the creator, Neil Gaiman.

145pm- to Planet Fitness. And, on the way I stopped at Ace and got two furnace filters; one for a buck and one for under four (they only had one of the cheap ones).

PLANET FITNESS CLOSES AT 10PM TONIGHT AND WON'T OPEN TILL 3PM TOMORROW.

45" Walk (AMERICAN GODS). 45" Recumbent Bike (read 'THE PENULTIMATE TRUTH/ amazon music). 45" Cross (THE BANK HEIST). 45" Bike (read/ Eric Clapton- BB King, 'RIDING WITH THE KING'). 30" Cross ('Z- THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING').
Home to read and listen to a CD-EP of a group from Athens, GA produced by Michael Stipe and Willie Dixon).
Then in the tub for more PK Dick and AXIS.
Another 'TED BUNDY TAPES' (Netflix). It's so cold that Planet Fitness is closing at 10pm tonight and won't open until 3pm tomorrow afternoon. This weather is literally life threatening.

Then the first episode of a Netflix series about a group of 'wanna-be- gangstas' running a pirate radio station out of an English council estate apartment (30").
