Tu 6/11/19

Up 530am; sunny and temps to low 80's.

Watched '1/1' (Amazon Prime) An artistic take on a 20 year old girl from Greensburg, PA who has a pregnancy scare. As her history unfolds, we learn that her father had committed suicide. An interesting soundtrack really added to the overall 'feel' of the film, and the sets and artwork suggest a collage or a poem rather than cinema.

Listened to a Youtube interview with the director and Lindsey Shaw, the lead actress of '1/1'. Odd that they would not divulge the meaning of the title.

Then 'ADAM RESURRECTED' (Amazon Prime) Jeff Goldblum/ Willem Dafoe...."Adam, we learn through many flashbacks, was a famed magician/entertainer in Berlin before World War II. Because he is Jewish it is not difficult to see that this will probably not turn into a joyous storyline. At one of his shows, a gentleman named Klein (Willem Dafoe) is selected from the audience to participate in the act. The man is very hesitant and Adam quickly surmises that Klein is pondering suicide, a scene that leaves them both uncomfortable. When Adam later ends up in a Concentration Camp, the commanding officer turns out to be none other than Klein. While Klein spares Adam's life, he does subject him to endless degradation until the war comes to an end. In the present (1960's), Adam is a frequent inhabitant of an insane asylum in Israel but it is not the stereotypical dirty place filled with sadistic attendants. It is an experimental facility where Holocaust survivors are treated respectfully under almost idyllic surroundings." Both lead actors are perfectly cast.

Woke up far too early. 1045am: PC off and reading on the living room couch. Hope today is not the visit from The Brandenburgs....IT WAS NOT.

Read and napped on the couch. Almost finished 'PLAYING FOR PIZZA'.
215PM: On the bike for LA Fitness.
45" Walk (WHAT IF). 45" Recumbent Bike (Began LOOKING FOR ALASKA). 45" Cross (Last episode of WHAT IF- I loved the series; just an overblown, contemporary Soap Opera). 30" Walk (ENTOURAGE). 30" Cross (OFF CAMERA- Fred Armisen).

Home to finish the John Grisham novel on the couch. Surprised to learn that the Parma Panthers are a real team, and a couple of the founding members were from Illinois State.

In the tub with 'LOOKING FOR ALASKA' and late RASCALS/ HOUND DOG TAYLOR.

The final episode of three for 'BLACK MIRROR'. Miley Cyrus as a Pop Diva that markets an AI doll of herself that saves/ changes her career. Not the best 'Mirror', but not bad. Then, an early episode of 'EASY'.
