Watched 'THE GREAT HACK' (Netflix) A documentary about Cambridge Analytical featuring whistleblower, Brittany Kaiser about her work that helped weaponize information on social media platforms. They employ the same techniques that are used in psychological warfare, and for years have been honing their craft in third world elections around the globe. In 2016 they targeted the 'big players' and were able to influence the UK in 'Brexit' and the US in the election of Donald Trump. Scary stuff!

Then 'THE PARTY' (Amazon Prime) A satirical dinner party in which a woman celebrates her election to parliament, and then all hell breaks loose. She finds out that her husband is dying and that he is in love with the wife of another guest; with Timothy Spall/ Kristin Scott Thomas/ Patricia Clarkson/ Bruno Ganz/ Cherry Jones/ Emily Mortimer/ Cillian Murphy.

Rewatched the second episode of 'PATRIOT C- 19' (Amazon Prime) and a couple of short reviews. I like it; a sharp and shrewd satire.

Joe emailed that my 'Worden Annuity' was deposited in the trust. Just the opposite of how Janny's was handled, and I was also promised that a check would be sent. Who cares? I'm about done with all of this nonsense.

To Fairhills and first the Dollar Store; incense/ mouthwash/ iron pills/ toothpaste/ TWELVE DOLLAR READING GLASSES; 3 FOR $12, OR 1 FOR $12...fucking nitwits. The clerk gave me a Hershey candy bar and two cookies that the woman in front of me paid for. Didn't see it till I got home. $56 Groceries.

Home to read downstairs and listened to THE SKELETONS. This band was from Springfield, MI and played an Alt-Rock kind of thing. Checked Amazon Music and got THE SKELETONS the was from Ohio and sounded like RADIOHEAD.

In the tub for more Carl Hiaasen and THE SKELETONS/ SOUL JAM/ STEREOLAB.

The next 'GENERATION KILL' (Amazon Prime). Then '72 HOURS' (Amazon Prime),  a Canadian True Crime series; this episode about an Indian Love Triangle that resulted in death near Toronto. Obviously a rip-off or reworking of, '48 HOURS', but not even close.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
