We 7/3/19- Couch Pick Up; 3-5pm- A NO GO....
Up 7am; humid with temps to about 90 and scattered showers for this afternoon, but not much rain all day. Hope for a heavy dose tonight.
'FULLTIME KILLER' (Amazon Prime) An Asian film about two rival professional killers, 'O' and 'Tok'. The movie makes lots of illogical leaps, and intentionally borrows from many films of the genre, but that's the charm since it never takes itself too seriously. BEST SCENES: (1) Assassin throws a bucket of fake grenades into a jail cell, then throws in the real one. His victim can't tell the real from the fake until it explodes. (2) Assassin battles the cops on an open-air apartment hallway and uses two bucking water hoses to keep them at bay.
Then, a 20 minute short film called 'THE PORTRAIT' on Amazon Prime starring Juliette Stevenson. 92 year old man was a clerk in a Nazi death camp and has hidden the secret for decades while starting a new life in England. After his granddaughter finishes painting his portrait, he commits suicide at the suggestion of his adult daughter. A pretty thin premise, but it's only twenty minutes.
And, the last 'SNEAKY PETE'. Although I'm really going to miss this series, the end of the last season was far superior to this one.
I was checking the net and found Giovanni Ribisi, Wynona Ryder, and John C. Reilly playing (lip syncing) a song by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. And, an Australian video by Blues Explosion called '2 Kinds of Love' that was a rock'n'roll meltdown worthy of the early Who.
Watched a YouTube interview with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and another interview with Dave Wakeling of English Beat.
Very hot and humid and the AC is on 79. The heaviest storms are supposed to hit the area between 3-5pm, right when Habitat truck is supposed to arrive. I've got the couch and mattress ready to go.
After a fifteen minute YouTube video about rock stars who lost all their money. 3pm: the PC is 'Off' and waiting for the movers.
The Habitat truck arrived about 320pm, and they called first. But, THEY COULDN'T GET IT OUT THE DOOR!!!! Took the back door off the hinges, but they couldn't get the back door to the downstairs off. "The hinges don't come off"...."What, it fucking grew there"? They were very nice, but no can do. I called '2 MEN AND A TRUCK' and left word that I want them to move the fucking thing to the garage. It's the fourth tomorrow so who knows when I'll hear from them.
On the machines at Planet Fitness at 4pm. 45" Walk (GOOD OMENS). 45" Recumbent Bike (Read THE 25TH HOUR/ Amazon Prime Music). 45" Cross (Did one hour of 'GOOD OMENS'/ then STONER WITCH- The Melvins that I uploaded to Music Play last night). 30" Walk (ENTOURAGE). 15" (OFF CAMERA- David Tennant).
Home to soak and listen to VOLUNTEERS- The Airplane, and more '25Th'.
'KILLER WOMEN WITH PIERS MORGAN' (Netflix) An upscale woman murders her lover's girlfriend and then tries to stab her husband to death. She claims it was just a 'sex game'. I should read more about this crime....Then, another GIRLS INCARCERATED YOUNG AND LOCKED UP... Why are we locking up girls this young? We are not any safer and they surely are not getting a fair shake. Sick, Sad, American....
