For some reason I thought that today was Wednesday. I guess the fact that Republic is running a day behind due to Labor Day had me turned around.

Up 745am (and put out the 'big blue container') Temps only in the 60's early, but to get to the upper 70's with plenty of sun.

Ordered the first book by James Lee Burke and another early novel in the Robicheaux series.

About 11am I got a call from Green Hyundai asking about my thoughts on my appointment with the service department. I told them that I solved the problem and had cancelled the appointment. Those guys are really all about customer service!

Watched 'STARRED UP' (Hoopla) An excellent prison film about a young offender who is judged 'Violent' and placed in prison, and his father is a hardened con and one of the 'kingpins' in the joint. It's about how the young man becomes involved with an anger management program. Like Nothing Else- 5 STARS: with Rupert Friend ('HOMELAND'), and he was in yesterday's 'A SIMPLE FAVOR') and Ben Mendelsohn ('BLOODLINE').

Then 'THUMPER' (Netlfix) I had seen this one before, but well worth a second look. A young undercover female cop infiltrates a meth ring in seedy Los Angeles. She has sympathy for the kids, but the meth cook is truly menacing. He's played by 'the guy with the porn mustache on 'ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK'.

215pm: Mowing the lawn and then to LA Fitness.
Finished mowing and raking by 320pm and decided to drive to LA Fitness and then get the flu shot at the Walgreens on Monroe after the workout. It would be too dark to do it on the bike.

At Walgreens 745pm and the flu shot is free! Paperwork took ten times as long as the shot.

Home to soak and listen to THOM YORKE/ THE TOLLWAY TROUBADOURS and more eighties police procedural.

'SERIAL KILLER- WITH PIERS MORGAN (Netflix) Convicted of only one murder, a Florida man confesses to thirteen more, but he says he was coerced by the police.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
