Up 720am: Light rain when I awoke, then cloudy with temps to about 80.

Wrote up 'THE FAR FIELD' by Madhuri Vijay for the blog.

Watched 'INGENIOUS' (Amazon Prime) Two friends try to market novelty items, but fail. Then they come up with the talking beer opener and strike it rich; with Dallas Roberts (AMERICAN CRIME), Jeremy Renner (HURT LOCKER, TAKE), and a small but excellent part for Richard Kind (I'M DYING UP HERE, LUCK).

1050am: Internet search on 'THE FAR FIELD'
1130: Skimming the book and will hit FitClub West for the workout and then leave for the book club meeting at 6pm.

On the machines at FitClub West by 130pm. 45" Octane (Listened to a podcast about 'THE FAR FIELD' with the author). 45" Walk (TV about the impeachment scandal). 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Old Style Cross. Whirlpool/ Pool.

Monroe and Washington closed to traffic and I had to drive to Jefferson to get downtown. A new member and I changed my feelings about the book after the discussion. Now I think I like the novel.

Home to watch 'THE PATENT SCAM' (Amazon Prime)  'Patent Trolls' buy up patents that can be very loosely applied and then stop companies from using or applying the technology covered by the patent. They don't create anything, but only exist to sue. The documentary is about a patent troll operation that was centered in east Texas.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
