Up 610am: Cloudy, chilly, temps to mid 50's.
Listened to Terry Gross 'Fresh Air' interview an author about a new biography of Janis Joplin.
Watched, 'FRESH' (Hoopla) A thoughtful and heartfelt ghetto film, without the anger and manic violence of the genre. Fresh is a young black kid from Brooklyn. He runs drugs for a local dealer, and because he is intelligent and honest, he is respected on the street. But, the environment is just too dangerous and wicked for him to survive; with Giancarlo Esposito and Samuel L. Jackson, and Sean Nelson in the title role.
Then, 'STREET THIEF' (Amazon Prime) A 'faux-documentary' that follows the criminal exploits of Chicago career burglar, Kaspar Carr. It's a fictional work, but it really seems to be a record of actual events. I really liked it!
12pm: PC 'Off' and reading 'CAMINO ISLAND', napping because I got up far too early.
On the machines at the 'Y' by 145pm. ONE HOUR WALK (Reality TV all workout). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.
To Best Buy to buy another Altec Bluetooth Speak; $125 and a universal adapter so that I can play it directly from a wall socket.
Set it up in the kitchen and took it downstairs and it absolutely fills the room! I love it. Read more of Grisham and listened to a BLUES COMPILATION on Amazon Music.
Then in the tub with more 'CAMINO ISLAND' and ELTON JOHN/ EDDIE FLOYD/ JANIS JOPLIN.
Instead of the next 'BREAKING BAD- SEASON 5' (Netflix), a bit of a change-up. I watched the first episode of a new series called, ' DAYBREAK' on Netflix.
Watched about twenty minutes and less than impressed. Maybe I will revisit at a later time, yet I will continue to use the 32" PC monitor. It works better and I'll save the DVD player for discs.
Then an hour documentary about CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (YouTube). The Blue Velvets, The Golliwogs...two of the band members were really in the National Guard, so the anti-war stance makes sense. Odd dynamic: younger brother, John Fogerty, takes command of the group.
