Up 715am: Another beautiful day with plenty of sun and temps to the low 70's.
I wrote up 'RULES OF CIVILITY' for the blog.
Watched 'QUICKSAND' (Amazon Prime) Not a bad 'B- Movie' with the 'innocent man on the run' theme. A nerdy bank officer is sent to Monaco delve into some questionable transactions involving a movie company. The company is not making films, but laundering money for the Russian mafia. The bank officer becomes framed for murder and he's on the run in scenic South France; with Michael Keaton, Michael Caine, and a smoking hot, Judith Godreche.
Then watched the first hour of a ninety minute doc called, 'JOHNNY WINTER: DOWN AND DIRTY' (Amazon Prime) 'The Frail Blues Giant'...poignant scene when they took him back to his childhood home in Beaumont, TX. He was too sad to see the inside even though the woman who owned the home invited him in. She knew that he and Edgar had spent countless hours practicing in the upstairs bedrooms..."If these walls could speak". He's been married since 1968 and his wife liked to do drugs right along with him. His new manager mentioned that Johnny Winter was only addicted to heroin for about two years, but was hooked on Methadone for almost 30 years!! Strange.
12pm: Reading 'THE TARGET' and listening to JOHN COLTRANE.
1245pm: The city truck and loader arrived and took away the brush pile. They did a fine job and even got all of the leaves. Nothing left but a slightly muddy stain. They didn't even stop to give it a thought as to whether the pile was too big.... All that anxiety for nothing.
About 1pm I called the 'non-emergency police' to report the 'rake roof' house. I just wanted to know how to proceed, and the clerk said that there was an officer in the area, and she'd send him over so that he could check it out. He arrived about 120pm and told me that he would check out the property and then make a report to 'the commander of our area'. I don't know what they'll do with the information, but now at least they know that the home is vacant.
On the machines at FitClub West by shortly before 2pm. 45" Octane (Listened to a few interviews with Johnny Winter on YouTube). 45" Walk (TV all workout). 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.
******When I got the bike into the garage I realized that I had left the new head phones at FitClub. I got in the car and they were right where I had left them- on the Cross machine.
By 515pm I was listening to a singles tape from about 1986 downstairs and reading more of Baldacci.
Then in the tub with JOHNNY WINTER/ KOKO TAYLOR and more Spy Intrigue.
The penultimate 'COLD CASE FILES' (Netflix) Girl murdered in a single wide trailer in North Carolina.
Then the end of the Johnny Winter doc. And, more 'CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM.' Larry picks up a hooker on the way to a ball game so that he can ride in the 'fast lane'. And she scores him some pot for his father's glaucoma.
