We 10/16/19- HAIRCUT YESTERDAY!!!

Up 720am: Partly cloudy, breezy, and chilly- temps only to mid 50's.

Watched Netflix disc, 'ALL IS TRUE'.  William Shakespeare returns home after his London theater has burned to the ground. However, his long absence from the family has made reintegration to his home life very difficult. A a well-done film, but probably the main plot point is hypothetical. That his son Hamnet drowned is only speculation as records say that he died in a plague, but it's no denying that this makes for a fine story.

Then watched a twenty minute short film on Netflix called, 'GHOSTS OF SUGAR LAND'    A Muslim group of guys discuss their thoughts and fears about one of their black friends who converted to Islam and then left America to join the Jihad. Sugar Land, Texas is a suburb of Houston.

I called Gabe's and cancelled the appointment for today and tomorrow. He'll call on Friday and maybe we can set something up.

The watched 'THE BENEFACTOR' (Amazon Prime) A very rich guy suffers guilt over the death of his two best friends in a car accident. He lives in relative seclusion and is addicted to Dilaudid, and when he learns that his friend's pregnant daughter and husband are moving back to Philadelphia, he tries to take control of their lives. Basically, it's about a guy dealing with his addiction and guilt. Richard Gere's performance as a charming rogue is the film's only saving grace; with Dakota Fanning, Cheryl Hines, and Dylan Baker.

215pm: To Wabash PO to mail back the disc, and then a workout at Planet Fitness.

Home to read on the couch and listen to BILL FRISELL QUARTET for about 40". Then in the tub and finished the Steven Womack novel and began the Contemporary Book Club selection for October/ 'Spike'- Elvis Costello/ THE PLIMSOULS.

The first episode of Season Five, 'BREAKING BAD' (Netflix). Then a couple of , ' Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee' . (Netflix)

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
