We 10/23/19- Contemporary Book Club

Up 7am: Partly cloudy, windy, to upper 60's.

Listened to a YouTube A 24" interview with Eugenia Kim and took notes for the blog on her book, 'THE KINSHIP OF SECRETS'.

Watched 'FREE FIRE' (Netflix) Shot near Brighton, East Sussex, England, but the story is set in late 70's Boston. Two crews (one is probably the Irish IRA) meet in an abandoned warehouse to exchange cash for weapons, and the deal goes awry. Kind of clever, witty repartee, and worth a look; with Cillian Murphy. The music of John Denver in a most unlikely setting.

Then watched, 'loudQuietloud: A Film About the Pixies - Found Tapes'.  A documentary about the 2004 Pixie's Reunion Tour. A dysfunctional group of individuals, yet they managed to pull it off.

1230pm: To FitClub West. 45" Octane (WTF- Iggy Pop). 45" Walk (TV for the rest of the workout). 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.

Home to skim for of the Eugenia Kim novel, cleaned up (but no shower), and on the road to the library by 520pm.
Ann was not there and Becky kind of ran the show. Most liked the book, but not overwhelmed. Finished in 35".

Home to soak in the tub, and read more of the delightful novel, 'CAMINO ISLAND' and listened to THE BREEDERS / THROWING MUSES.

The next 'BREAKING BAD' (Netflix). Watched at the 32" monitor.

And then  a YouTube video; 'BBC MUSIC FOR MISFITS-THE STORY OF INDIE. DIY'.

Then a twenty minute YouTube documentary about REM called, 'R.E.M. - December 1992,  PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE'.
