Up 635am: Mostly sunny with temps to about 40.
*****Somebody has 'raked the roof' of the house next door. Also, it looks like a lot of branches have been collected in front of their garage.
Watched, 'THE LAST BOY SCOUT' (Netflix) A very enjoyable 'Action/ Thriller/ Buddy Picture, yet almost too silly and violent to be believed; with Bruce Willis, Damon Wayans, and Halle Berry. I tried to watch this yesterday, but the problems at Netflix made this impossible. Clear sailing today.
Sent emails to Janny and Cindy. The former about the 'Holiday Pecan Pie', and the latter about 'Dave's Condition';
"Hi gang, I got some news about Johnson today. He's not doing well at all. He can't get out of bed , falls a lot, often doesn't know who anyone is and can't even roll over. Donna sent me a picture so I could see him. I won't share that unless you want to see how he is. I feel the end is near for him. It's so sad. Sometimes when Donna visited him she would call me and I would talk with him about a minute or two before he just stopped talking but I haven't talked with him since mid October".
Then Watched, 'ROOM 37: THE MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF JOHNNY THUNDERS'. I started this last night, but changed to something else because it was not a documentary, but a fictionalized account of Thunder's last days in New Orleans. The film is a kind of a hallucinogenic examination of certain myths and truths concerning the death of Johnny Thunders- he was the victim of an assault, he was trying to kick methadone, and he was in the final stages of leukemia- A very low-budget, almost 'student film', but packed a weird intensity.
1pm: Reading and listening to the living room Altec. LA Fitness later and the car wash at Green is still closed for repairs.
2pm: On the machines at LA Fitness. 45" Walk (THE DEVIL NEXT DOOR). 45" Recumbent Bike (Read 'CHAMELEON' and listened to THE EELS). 45" Cross (Last episode of THE DEVIL NEXT DOOR- Nazi guard at Sobibor moves to Cleveland and lives a happy life. Twenty years later he's extradited to Israel, found guilty, then he's exonerated in the supreme court. He returns to the US and is extradited to Germany where he is found guilty. He's 91, sentenced to five years, and dies. I still don't know if he really was the guard at Sobibor and Treblinka). 30" Walk (TOON). 30" Cross (TOON).
Home to soak and read more 'CHAMELEON' and listen to ELLIOTT SMITH and ELTON JOHN.
Then the next 'BREAKING BAD' (Netflix).
Then a fifteen minute YouTube documentary where Dick Cavett interviews Mick Jagger before a 1972 concert...For Fans Only...
Then, THE BEATLES: PARTING WAYS (YouTube)
