Up 710am: Cloudy with a slight chance of rain- temps to mid 40's.
Watched Netflix disc, 'COUNTRY STRONG'. A watchable film, yet loaded with every cliche and obvious choice in the 'Troubled Super-Star' genre. It comes off as a weak and melodramatic homage to 'A STAR IS BORN' that, despite a cringe worthy story-line, is saved (just barely) by some decent acting; with Gwyneth Paltrow, Garrett Hedlund, Tim McGraw, Leighton Meester (she looks so much like a young Julianne Moore that it was distracting), and a non-speaking role for Marshall Chapman.
Then, 'WISE GIRLS' (Hoopla) A surprisingly good film! A young woman comes back to Staten Island after dropping out of medical school, and gets a job at a local Italian restaurant that happens to be run by the mafia. She becomes close friends with two of the waitresses, and when she witnesses a mob murder, the gang will not let her leave. But, one of her friends turns out to be working undercover to bust the criminal organization, and in the end, all is well. A bit hard to believe, but well worth a look; with Mira Sorvino, Mariah Carey, and Melora Walters.
115pm: Dropped the disc in the box at Monroe and then on to FitClub West.
45" Octane (WTF- James Taylor). 45" Walk (TV all workout). 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.
Home to do the weekly cleaning, then read on the couch and listened to JOE TEX on the living room Altec for about 40". Then in the tub with more 'WHISKEY WHEN WE'RE DRY' and listened to AMY LAVERE and THE ANIMALS WITH SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON.
Then, a YouTube video about THE DOOBIE BROTHERS. I was surprised to learn that Jeff Baxter of , STEELY DAN was part of the band. I got three albums of THE DOOBIE BROTHERS on Amazon Prime during the show.
Then. THE RISE OF VELVET REVOLVER (YouTube). This was a kind of effort to reform GUNS AND ROSES.
Then a YouTube video of a domestic violence case from England.
