Watched Netflix disc, 'HUSTLERS'. The film makes the case that strippers are far more concerned with money than sex. They are strictly working for money and this is their job, and they are NOT interested in love, friendship, sexual gratification, or companionship. However, in this story (based on real events) a group of strippers fleece their customers by cleaning out their credit cards after drugging them, and obviously this is grand larceny; with Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles. Will Ferrell and Jennifer Lopez were two of the co-producers."The whole world is a strip club, some people throw the money and others do the dancing". "Hurt People, Hurt People".

Then, 'Edmond' (Amazon Prime) Because a fortune teller (that he visits on a whim), tells him that "he's not where he belongs', the man leaves his wife. And that night, he starts an adventure where he meets strippers, prostitutes, muggers, and con-men, and he commits a particularly gruesome murder. Along the way he spouts philosophical rants that give voice to his 'White Male Rage'. Not as goofy as it sounds, but close; with William H. Macy, Rebecca Pidgeon (she's married to David Mamet), Mena Suvari, Bokeem Woodbine, and Julia Stiles.

Home to read for an hour downstairs with a cup of instant and listened to THE WALKMEN and LIVE YO LA TENGO on YouTube. Then in the tub with more Grisham....I finished the book and loved it!! Listened to COURTNEY BARNETT and CULT.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
