Sa 1/4/2020

Up 740am: Very light snow just beginning when I got up and continued till about 9am. Just a slight dusting and it was all melted by 1030am- Temps to low 30's.

Ordered small bags of dry cat food from Walmart. Scheduled for free pickup at the store.

Ordered February's selection for the book club- 'EDUCATED'. Only $7.50 from Moonbokers.
*****Later I found that this is an ebook. If it works on my phone, I've saved a bunch.

Watched 'FREAKS' (Hoopla) Reviews caution you not to read anything about the film, and I haven't. A wild and crazy ride, and I'm thrilled that I didn't have a clue as to what it was about. A seven year old girl is living in a rundown house with her father. He's trying to teach her to be 'normal'. Actually, he's placed a hold on 'time' and he, his missing wife, and their seven year old daughter are 'abnormals' or 'freaks'. They've got super powers and the whole world is out to get them. In the end, mother and daughter escape and maybe they can live free because daughter says that she can stop the 'normals' from trying to kill them; with Emile Hirsch, Bruce Dern, and Lexy Kolker as 'Chole'.

Then, 'REVIVAL: THE SAM BUSH STORY' (Amazon Prime) A tribute to the originator of 'New Grass' which is 'Blue Grass' music that incorporates the new musical styles of the last few decades. I was able to put a lot of new music on my phone, and Sam Bush is an amazing player.

I had planned on going to the 'Y', but I decided that I'd hit that tomorrow and then pick up the cat food that I ordered.

2pm: To Planet Fitness. 45" Walk (TRUE CRIME). 45" Recumbent Bike (THE BITTER SEASON and listened to BELA FLECK AND THE FLECKTONES) 45" Cross (TRUE CRIME)....2 True Crime...(1) Guy in hotel room alone, believed to be beaten to death, but he was shot by accident through the wall from the room next door....(2) Guy seems to have an airtight alibi, but he killed his wife and chopped her up and put her in a 2 X 3 plastic box in a Florida quarry. 30" Walk (THE CROWN). 30" Cross (THE CROWN).

Home to read in the living room and listen to THE NEW GRASS REVIVAL for 40". Then in the tub with more Tami Hoag and LIVE, LOVE, LAFF, AND LOAF and URIAH HEAP.

Watched a 30" documentary about Vox amplifiers and instruments from Hartford, England (birth place of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards). The Beatles used their amps for free (the advertising was worth thousands),  Brian Jones used their guitars, and the 'special effects' on the Stones 'Satisfaction' was developed by Vox. Most of the British Invasion used their equipment' Hollies, The Shadows, Queen- an East London small business success.

Then a YouTube documentary about The Fairport Convention. This band is an 'English echo' of the American rock band, 'The Band'. They both attempted to popularize their country's indigenous folk music.
