Up 7am: Cloudy, warm, very windy, and temps to 50. Rain begins late this afternoon and should continue through Saturday. It looks as if they've backed off a bit on the accumulation- now it's not quite three inches from over four.
I made a comment on Reddit about Facebook:
"Whatever 'news' you see on Facebook must be checked out on other media sources.
Remember that what you are seeing on Facebook has been 'tailored' to agree with what you already believe, so if you're convinced it's the absolute truth, it's probably a lie".
Watched, 'PASSION PLAY' (Amazon Prime). A quirky Art House film about a desolate trumpet player who finds a beautiful young woman who has actual wings like a bird. He takes her away from her carny boss, and then trades her to a local mob boss (Bill Murray makes an excellent villain). The trumpeter gets her back after he realizes that he has fallen in love with her and, in the end, they fly away. Sounds dumber than it was, and I kind of liked it; with Mickey Rourke, Bill Murray, Megan Fox, and Kelly Lynch. The director, Mitch Glazer, is friends with Mickey Rourke (they attended the same high school in Florida) and Glazer is married to Kelly Lynch. The film was shot around Albuquerque, NM.
Then, 'SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED' (Crackle). A reporter and his two interns investigate a man who is seeking a partner to travel in time...safety not guaranteed. It's a cockeyed love story with an engaging cast. I liked it! With Aubrey Plaza, Jake Johnson, Mark Duplass, and small cameos for Jeff Garlin and Kristen Bell. Shot mostly in Ocean Shores, WA: on the Pacific coast and due west of Aberdeen, WA.
Transferred $12,000 to Heartland checking so that I can put that amount in the Ameriprise Acct. Will stop at Dax's to drop off the check, then to State Farm to pick up the 'proof of insurance' card for the Elantra, and on to the 'Y'.
****I called Dax's office before I left and I had to leave word, but since it was 1pm (and I was heading to State Farm anyway) I decided to stop over since they might have been at lunch. They were all there (except for Emily because she works in Lincoln part of the time), and Dax came out and asked how it was going. He said there is always someone in the office between 830am and 430pm. I gave them a check for twelve thousand.
Talked to an agent at State Farm and he printed a temporary card. This will be valid even if I do not receive the regular proof of insurance cards.
On the machines at the 'Y' about 140pm.
45" Walk (TV all workout). 45" Cross. 45" Recumbent Bike. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.
Talked to Steve about 'ANNIE WITH AN E'. What a low-brow individual. Another guy overheard us talking about Netflix and recommended 'PEAKY BINDERS'. I might check that one out.
Home to read more of Burke and listened to STEELY DAN and T. REX. Then in the tub with more Robicieux and STURGILL SIMPSON and WEYES BLOOD.
*****I got a cold call from a duct cleaning service while in the tub- $69 and they are to come over between ten and noon tomorrow.
I didn't realize that I had watched the last episode of 'BETTER CALL SAUL' Season One, last night. So, I watched 45" of a YouTube documentary, 'PINK FLOYD- THE STORY OF WISH YOU WERE HERE'.
Then the first episode of, 'CHEER' (Netflix). Wow! Forget The Dallas Cheerleaders, this has nothing to do with that. This is more advanced Ninja- styled tumbling and advanced gymnastics. I'm hooked on this series!
