Su 2/23/2020- HEAT STILL OFF! EVACUATION AT THE Y.
Up 730am: Partly sunny to mid 50's.
***About 9am I called Mike Bergen and he called back and we set up an appointment for 9am tomorrow. He said that he would come today, but there is nowhere to buy parts on Sunday.
Watched Netflix disc, 'UNBROKEN' (DIR. Angelina Jolie and screenplay by the Coen Brothers). A Christian based film that was not dopey or hokey, but dangerously close. Louis Zamperini was a high school track star and slated for the Olympics, but WWII intervened. Zamperini becomes a bombardier and his plane is shot down, and he's lost at sea for 45 days. Then he's 'rescued' by the Japanese, spends the remainder of the war in a brutal Japanese prisoner of war camp. But, he makes it back to the US to reconnect with all of his loved ones. The tone of this film is straight out of the 1940's or 50's, and I'm sure it's very popular in Republican circles.
Then the final episode of 'FOREVER' (Amazon Prime). There is a discussion with Fred, Maya, and collaborators about each episode. I'll have to rewatch the whole series.
1pm: Began the Weekly Cleaning and then to the 'Y' for the workout.
2pm: Dropped the disc in the box at Fairway/ Monroe and on the machines at the 'Y' by 215pm.
****Five minutes into the walk on the treadmill I heard a recorded announcement..."A fire has been detected and you are to exit the building immediately". I left (still slightly zonked, but it felt so strange because it was...) and stood in the front courtyard. Engines '12' and '13' arrived and we were back in the building by 245pm. Hours later I asked a kid at the front desk what was on fire and he said that there was no fire but someone had pulled a fire alarm.
45" Walk. 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. 30" Bike (Right ankle feels sore; almost like sprained). 30" Cross.
Stopped at the station near Durkin for $18 of gas and a thirteen pack of Natty Daddy.
In the tub with 'THE CROSSING' and listened to THE LONDON SOULS and DEX ROMWEBER DUO.
The temp upstairs is 65 and that's a couple of degrees warmer than last night. I've got the electric heater downstairs pumping out the heat. Feels fine. The repairman is to arrive at nine am tomorrow.
Watched the last 25" of 'NARCOS' that I began at Planet Fitness yesterday.
Then two episodes of , THE KOMINSKY METHOD' (Netflix).
