Up 730am: Wintry Mix predicted but just clouds, drizzle, and showers all day: mid 30's.
Wrote up THE ESCAPE- David Baldacci for the blog.
Watched Netflix disc, 'THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD'; Dir. Peter Jackson. Restored and colorized film footage of WWI make it seems like 'The Great War' happened just yesterday. I've never seen trench warfare fought under sunny skies, but I guess occasionally that really happened. Strange fact: When the war ended there were no jobs for the veterans and the civilians had no idea what the soldiers went through. The average person thought that it was just one big cavalry charge and were not in the least bit interested in the truth.
Then watched, 'ANNE PERRY- INTERIORS' (Amazon Prime). The film is basically a study of Perry's writing technique in her home in very rural Northern Scotland. She lives with her brother and several assistants and they are all practising Mormons. She writes on a leather recliner with a large pillow on her lap. The works are written in longhand and her secretary transcribes the material and sometimes neither the secretary or Perry herself can decipher the copy.
****I wanted to watch a Peter Jackson film, and wasn't interested in LORD OF THE RINGS/ KING KONG/ THE HOBBIT, and thought HEAVENLY CREATURES looked good, but it wasn't available to stream (I put it in my disc queue at Netflix). But, then I noticed the Anne Perry documentary at Amazon and learned that she is actually one of the 'murderers' in HEAVENLY CREATURES. Anne Perry helped a friend kill her mother when she was fifteen and living in New Zealand. She only did five years and changed her name and kept her past a secret until after the film was released.
I ordered, 'THE WILLIAM MONK MYSTERIES: THE FIRST THREE NOVELS' by Anne Perry: $6.00- Amazon
Read some online material about 'smoking weed for the first time'. The plan is to pick up the weed (I'm taking four fifties with me) and then over to Penny Lane for a bong. Then to Planet Fitness for a workout.
1pm: On the road. Dropped the disc at the box in front of the Monroe PO. Then to the marijuana store.

Then drove to Penny Lane and bought a $22 plastic bong. I had to ask the guy how to work it, but I forgot to ask him about filling with water. I have no idea.
On the machines at Planet Fitness by 215pm. 45" Walk (Assistant Director of THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD is interviewed about the making of the film. Very interesting. People of that era stood in front of a still camera for several minutes to take a photo, and it film in 1919 they had crank cameras and the subjects wanted to stop and pose. Germans shot super explosive shells to create huge bomb craters and then the soldiers would advance and use the hole as another cover or trench.). Also the trenches were dug with squiggles in them so that an explosion wouldn't shoot straight down the trench.......
45" Recumbent Bike (Read the Matt Scudder and listened to THE WHITEFIELD BROTHERS and TAME IMPALA). 45" Cross (PHARMACIST). 30" Walk (PHARMACIST). 30" Cross (Sam Jones- OFF CAMERA, XMAS EDITION).
******Home to begin the stoning. Took on mint tablet and began the weekly cleaning-6pm. By 630Pm I think I was feeling a mild sensation as I finished the cleaning. Then tried my first bong in several decades. The package was nearly impossible to break apart. Child proof, in-fucking-deed!
Nice buzz, then into the tub for two beers and more Scudder. Listened to SHUGGIE OTIS and THE SILOS....V E R Y R E L A X E D.....
Downstairs to smoke another bowl and rewatch the last episode of 'BETTER CALL SAUL'; Season 3 so that I'm ready for 'just released' Season 4.
**** One more beer....Hazy on the end of Season 3....
A YouTube video about, 'THE MAKING OF AJA- Steely Dan'. "Flickering images meaning nothing", but I think it's mostly the beer and no doubt that I am altered.
