Up 630am: Sunny with temps to low 60's.
Watched, 'THE GHOST WHO WALKS' (Netflix). An ancient story of a man fresh out of prison who tries to reunite with his lover and the daughter he's never met, but the mob has other ideas. Filmed in St. Louis, MO. A cut above the usual low budget Independent and well worth a look.
Then watched, 'THE MISSING PERSON' (Kanopy). A boozy PI gets a job to follow a man on a train from Chicago to Los Angeles. He thinks that this man might be a paedophile, but actually he helps lost kids, although the orphanage is run by a Mexican drug cartel. Noir flourishes throughout, and this was most definitely a cut above; with Michael Shannon and Amy Ryan.
My post at Kanopy:
"Finely nuanced Detective-Noir with note perfect performances by Michael Shannon and Amy Ryan. This is clearly an overlooked film, and most definitely worth a look."
Then watched 'HELLAWARE' (Kanopy). A young NYC photographer travels to Delaware to meet, shoot, and interview a new Rap/Rock group. Their coarse and boorish stagecraft covers an almost complete lack of talent, yet the photographs make them all stars.
My post on Kanopy:
"A very low budget Independent, faux- documentary that spoofs the arbitrary nature of the world of art. Young artists might have a unique perspective, but it's the gallery owners and collectors who make the final decision. And, these self proclaimed kingpins might very well have such boorish, yet influential taste that 'Cut Your Dick Off' could be the soundtrack for 'the next big thing'."
230pm: PC on "Restart" to install updates, and reading Michael Connelly and listening to THE STRANGLERS on the living room Altech.
405pm: On the walk. Up Westview to Parkview to Oakmont across Old Jacks over to Golf and west on Greenbriar. Back to Bellerive south near Green on Vets. East on Iles to Chatham north to Cherry then east to Noble then into Wash Pk. via Park. To the north side of the park and up to the golf course path and up Fairway....Saw 'The Church Lady' from the book club. She ignored me...Up to 940. TWO HOURS AND TEN MINUTES.
In the tub with MICHAEL CONNELLY and THE STRANGLERS and THE STRAWBS.
Watched the last two episodes of, 'TIGER KING' (Netflix).
***In the last segment Joel McHale interviews some of the 'stars' of the series. Very interesting in that it was filmed recently during the COVID-19 quarantine. This episode is billed as a treat from Netflix for all of the fans of the series.
Watched the next episode of, 'THE FIRST 48TH: HOMICIDE SQUAD ATLANTA' (Amazon Prime). The murderer is finally apprehended and linked by DNA to the killing, however he was in prison for an unrelated double homicide.
