Tu 4/14/2020- Webex Meeting With Dax 1pm.
Up 729am: Partly cloudy temps to mid 40's.
***Connected new Mp3 player to living room PC. Added the albums on this computer.
Watched, 'SON OF A GUN' (Kanopy). An imprisoned criminal mastermind meets a young guy in prison and involves him in an elaborate gold robbery. An Australian prison/thriller/heist film with a moral twist- There can be honor among thieves; with Brenton Thwaites, Ewan McGregor, and Alicia Vikander. Enjoyable if you don't think too hard.
Then the next episode of, 'KILLER RATINGS' (Netflix). Representative Wallace Souza's trial is finished and the judge is about to announce her decision. It looks like he was being set up by the government, although Souza still could be the head of a criminal gang. Even when this series is over, I don't know if I would believe that the outcome was just.
1245pm: Waiting for Dax's call at 1pm.
He called a little before 1pm and we were done by 130pm. I've maintained about a 5.8% return on average for sixteen years. Not bad, of course I took a big hit this year. We will just keep everything the same. There should be no difference in strategy whether it's a Bull or a Bear market.
I got an email from Janny saying that Jamie is still in St. John's and he is now on the 11th floor but out of the isolation area for Covid-19. And, it was not true that blood thinners would prevent him from doing his job as a fireman.
I got the new Mp3 player working. I had a little trouble learning how to adjust the volume. The quality is acceptable but not exceptional. I'm pretty sure that I can attach the unit to the stereo in the Elantra.
115pm: PC is "Off" and reading, 'COGAN'S TRADE' and listening to THE THIEVERY CORPORATION on the living room Altech.
445 pm smoked a bowl for the first walk 'high'... STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER...
5pm: Out the front door and down and over to the golf course and walked east and over to Edwards to Walnut.
***Used the mp3 player for the first time. TOM VERLAINE- 'Cover', ALPHA BAND compilation, CAPTAIN BEEFHEART.
Then south to the panhandle and through the park on the west side. Up Parkview to Interlaken and Kenyon to 940. AN HOUR AND 45".
Then in the tub for more George V. Higgins and ANDREW SUMMERS (The Police) and ANDREW BYRD.
***Janny sent me a detailed account of Jamie's plight in the hospital from an email written by Melissa. He's relatively full of blood clots and apparently this is something that he's had for a long time. His condition had nothing whatsoever to do with the pandemic. Strangely hopeful?
Watched, 'SURVIVING R. KELLY: THE IMPACT' (Netflix). The Chicago prosecution team makes a very strong case that R. Kelly is a sexual predator. The eye-opener is that so many people were aware of his proclivities and did nothing to stop him.
Then two episodes of, 'THE ILIZA SHLESINGER SKETCH SHOW' (Netflix). All of these are worth a look.
