Fr 6/19/20- COUNTY MARKET: $104: Windows Blackout Screech

Up 645am: Up early so that I can hit Fairhills. Mostly sunny with temps to 90 and chance of a shower.

715 am at County Market/ Fairhills. No wait in line; 30 people in store including the employees.

815 am: Mowed the lawn and done with raking and branch trimming by 930 am.

Watched Netflix disc, 'LION'S DEN'. A women's prison film that concerns Argentinian women who are imprisoned while pregnant. They are allowed to keep their children until the child turns four. Then, the child is turned over to a relative or the authorities will put the child up for adoption. In the end mom's mother tries to take the child before her four years are up, so she takes her son and exits the country. I'd seen this one before, but well worth a second viewing. The director's wife has the role of the mother.  

***Around 1110 am I got a 'Windows Blue Screen Screech' on the PC. The screen got colorfully pixelated and I thought it was just a problem with the disc. It probably lasted a few minutes and then did the countdown to restart. Everything back to normal, but why???

Then I added the following to the Mp3 player; Naked City, Ornette Coleman, The Del Fuegos, Montreaux Jazz Festival 1988- 2 discs, Yo La Tengo.

***115 pm: Tried to open Amazon Prime and it forced me to reset the password. I was able to use the same one, 'Oh, ya don't...zip'. Why all of this confusion today?

Then I watched, 'CRAWL' (Amazon Prime). From the review in Variety, "It's 'Jaws' set in an old dark house." I really liked the film, and according to Prime Trivia for the film it was one of Quentin Tarantino's favorites from 2019. Although set in Gainesville, Florida, this movie was actually shot in Belgrade, Serbia. The song, 'SEE YA LATER ALLIGATOR' plays as the credits rolled. 

330 pm: PC is 'Off' and will get an early start on the walk. Downtown to the  Monroe PO to mail back the disc. 

350 pm On the walk. Lawrence Edwards... Monroe PO... 5th south to South Grand. Wash. Pk. South side. Up hiil, Parkview, down to 940.JUST OVER 2 HOURS. MP3. DON CALABRE, ARMED FORCES, ELVIS COSTELLO. 

READ 30 mins. Then in the tub with WHEN GOD WAS A RABBIT. Listening to BADBADNOTGOOD, Badly Drawn Boy, Bahamas, Blackberry Smoke.. Leave A Scar.. 

Watched, 'SQUARE ONE' (Amazon Prime). A documentary about the 1993 investigation against Michael Jackson for the molestation of a thirteen year old boy. Makes the case that Michael Jackson was innocent on all counts! FACT:? The average child molester has relations with over 250 children. That seems hard to believe.

 Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
