Up 630 am: Much cooler and cloudy with a slight chance of rain this afternoon; temps to low 70's.

***Shortly before 9 am. a Mayflower truck pulled up across the street. I thought that we were finally getting new neighbors at Boozer's old house, but it was just Willow's house getting a piano.  Was this a late birthday gift? The  trucks were gone within fifteen minutes.

***I replaced all of the batteries in the lawn lights out front. Checked at 9 pm and they all work perfectly. Looks nice. 

Watched, 'INSIDE MAN' (Netflix). Robbers take over a Manhattan bank and dress all of the hostages in masks and gray jumpsuits. Hours later, when the hostages are let out the main entrance, there is no trace of the robbers and nothing was stolen. However, they were only concerned with the contents of one safety deposit box. Similar to the Italian series, 'MONEY HEIST'; directed by Spike Lee, with Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster, and Christopher Plummer.

Then watched, 'SOLLERS POINT' (Amazon Prime). This was near the end of the queue and I should have watched this one sooner. A great, small budget Independent about a young man who is recently out of prison and, try as he might, he just can't seem to reintegrate back into society. He hangs with black friends (his ex is black), yet he has ties to a white supremacy gang that will not let him be. A fresh look at 'doing the right thing' when circumstances will not allow. Marin Ireland has a small role and shot on location in Sollers Point, MD. (near Dundalk, MD.).  

And then, the next two episodes of, 'DOWNLOAD' (Amazon Prime).

I'm almost back to pre-pandemic highs, but I know that this is not the end of the dizzying market fluctuations.

***3 pm: Re-started the PC for June's Updates and then vacuumed the Elantra. Walk later.   

335 pm/ updates complete and on the streets. Lawrence to Edwards to 2nd St. South Grand west to South of Wiggins... Took a leak on this path. South side of park. Parkview, Fairway, Kenyon and down to 940. EXACTLY 2 HOURS. Mp3... PURE.. THE Golden Palominos and MR. TAMBOURINE MAN.. Byrds

Messed with updates on downstairs PC. All downloads didn't take. Will try again later. 

In the tub to start THE FOURTH DEADLY SIN... LAWRENCE SANDERS. LISTENED TO BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS,  BLACK PISTOL FIRE, BLACKBERRY SMOKE. 

Watched the YouTube movie, 'FRANCIS BACON: A BRUSH WITH VIOLENCE. I was only vaguely aware of this artist, but I think Ralph Steadman was very familiar with his work and he took it a little closer to the edge. Not a very detailed biography, and I'd like to know more about this guy.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
