Up 710am: Sunny with temps in the mid 60's early and to a high of 85 this afternoon. In the mid 90's this weekend.
Watched 'HUMAN CAPITAL' (Hoopla). It seemed so familiar because I had seen the original Italian film based on the book. A complex plot that elegantly reveals itself through shifting points of view that examines a hit and run accident and how this event had dire consequences for two families; with Marisa Tomei, Peter Sarsgaard, Liev Schreiber, and Maya Hawke. A fantastic film!
Then watched 'CAPONE' (Kanopy). A very strange take on the infamous Chicago crime boss, Al Capone; with Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, and Matt Dillon.
Here's my post at Kanopy:
"Al 'Fonzo' Capone, infamous kingpin of The Outfit, is depicted as a fragile and cruelly demented man in the final stages of dementia. He's totally unhinged from reality and visits various events in his life like a gun-toting Ghost of Christmas past...and there's something about a missing ten million dollars and how much healthier carrots are than cigars. The film is nearly impossible to enjoy because the central character is such a barbarous and brutish human being."
145pm: Preparing for another early walk on an absolutely beautiful summer afternoon.
215pm. Lawrence, Edwards, 2nd St. tracks, west on Allen, thru park on Southside road. Parkview and down to 940. 2 HRS. ON THE NOSE. Mp3. LIVE DIZZY GILLESPIE, JETRO TULL 'This Was', FLEETWOOD MAC 'Then Play On.
***Downstairs to read Garp listened to LIVE REM, TRUE WEST.
Fucked around with Windows Updates. Left PC on and monitor off.
In the tub with Garp and listened to LITTLE FEAT, and then finished most of the interview between Ted Nugent and Joe Rogan.
***PC left running and now it says that it needs a 'restart'. I will do this when I am finished tonight and turn off the monitor and leave the PC 'On'.
I watched a YouTube video of Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro (Libertarian) discuss marijuana and drugs. Then watched the last 45" of 'LOWELL GEORGE- FEATS FIRST' (Amazon Prime). I was shocked (but not exactly surprised) to learn that Little Feat are not in The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame.
Then an episode of 'THE BUSINESS OF DRUGS: Meth' (Netflix). Myanmar used to be the kingpin of 'The Poppy Triangle', but now methamphetamine is the new money maker. Meth labs can be setup out in the wilderness where no legal authority can touch them and the profit margin is far superior to heroin. NEW INNOVATION: Meth in a tablet! Ideal for the blue collar market.
