We 8/5/20- Haircut at Supercuts

We 8/5/20

Up 715: Another beautiful day with plenty of sun and temps to the mid 70's.

Last night I got an email from Janny about our father's WWII medals that she and Joe got in the mail. I wrote to her about what they meant and Rambo he was not.

I watched 'PRISON SONG' (Netflix). A black prison genre film that stars Elvis Costello? He plays a teacher and a defense lawyer. Although the film highlights the egregiously unfair criminal justice system and the 'privatization' of prisons, a better film might have been how Costello became involved in this project; with Q-Tip, Harold Perrineau, Elivis Costello, and Mary J. Bilge.

Then watched 'THE DEATH OF DICK LONG' (Kanopy). I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in I don't remember when (and it weren't the weed!). My post at Kanopy:

" A regional black comedy set in very rural Alabama where the characters play it straight and deadpan, yet what they say is flat-out hilarious. If you're a fan of transgressive comedies, this one is a sure bet. I haven't laughed so hard since 'Shakes The Clown' by Bobcat Goldthwait. "

At 2pm. I made an appointment at Supercuts for a cut at 230pm. Preparing to walk.

Walked over and arrived on time and waited 15 mins. One guy and his son didn't wear masks. You are masked while they do the cut. $15 plus $3 tip for about three inches.

Home for 6 MILES on the treadmill in 58 mins. Watched another episode of THE FEED, more of LIVE DRIVE BY TRUCKERS at The 40 Watt Club and the rest of WTF~ DAX SHEPPARD.

Then in the living room scanning the internet and listening to a tape of BUTCH HANCOCK.

In the tub with MODEL BEHAVIOR and listening to HARVEY MANDEL, THE FLOCK ~ YouTube.

Watched 'NO ALTERNATIVE' (Amazon Prime).  A brother and sister both are avid musicians who were deeply affected by the death of Kurt Cobain. The boy plays in a grunge band and the girl uses a male rap persona to deal with her anxieties. Their father is a judge and he defended a woman who was released early and went back and murdered her family. The gun that was used in her brother's suicide was bought to protect the family. "My Daddy's A Republican". The director said that the theme is based on his sister's ordeal with bipolar disorder.
Link About The Movie:

Watched the first episode of Season I (The Pilot) 'DEAD LIKE ME' (Amazon Prime).
