Rain began about 7am and will last through the afternoon. Temps to mid 70's.
Up 6am, but I read 'THE KEYS TO TULSA' for about 40" before I got out of bed. I left the house at 745am and was back by 810am. It started to rain pretty hard just as I pulled out of the garage.
***Only a few cars at the testing site. A white tent and I had to pull into parking space #10 and then call the phone number on the sign. Then they had me pull out of the space and get in line for the tent. Only one car ahead of me and they pulled away quickly. A woman came out and asked my name and date of birth. She said that this was 'an easy' Covid test. It only goes into the nose about a half inch. There was a test where the stick went much further back and this was the test that I had been hearing about. It wasn't painful and barely uncomfortable. Done in less than five minutes. All the concern was for nothing.
Home to write up the 'adventure' and watch the film that I had borrowed from Hoopla yesterday- 'SECRETS IN A SMALL TOWN' (Hoopla). Only slightly better than a Lifetime Movie, but it had its moments. Mother and daughter move to a small town from the big city. The daughter joins the girls basketball team, goes to a 'welcome to the team' party and is never seen again. The women that coaches the girls basketball team is behind the whole 'hazing/cover-up'.
Then watched 'THE BERLIN SYNDROME' (Kanopy). A German man preys on female tourists and this is the story of one of the girls that he kidnapped and held hostage for several months. In the end, she locks him in the abandoned tenement building that was her prison for so long. Not bad and I'm pretty sure that I'd seen it before.
***Having trouble with all Weather Sites. I'm getting an error message- the new 'Aw Shucks'. I don't know what it is, but I'm hoping it's on their end.
Now it happens on Netflix (disc). I hope it's not those damn Windows Updates.
220pm: I'm going to do a 'restart'. The 'restart' apparently worked. No problem with the Weather Sites and Netflix Disc, but I should have gotten the two discs yesterday. Maybe today. The problem disappeared after the 'restart'.
Going for an early walk since I got up so early this morning.
250pm...Parkview, Oakmont, Laurel, Outer Park, Lincoln to Wash. Pk., Northside, asphalt up to Parkview, down to 940. 2 HOURS... Mp3... RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, RICHARD THOMPSON, ROYAL TRUX.
Used eye drops for the second time, read in the living room 30 mins.
In the tub with THE KEYS TO TULSA and listening to THE MELVINS LIVE, ALABAMA THUNDER PUSSY, SUN RA LIVE.
Watched 'THE TULSA LYNCHING OF 1921' (YouTube). An hour and fifteen minutes about the biggest White Riot in American history. June 1, 1921 a white mob destroyed the entire black section of downtown Tulsa, OK. In 1921 Tulsa was The Oil Capital of The World and out of a town of nearly 100,000 people, 3,000 belonged to the Ku Klux Klan. Thousands of blacks were uprooted and hundreds killed, and none of the victims were ever compensated for this clear instance of American genocide.
And another YouTube documentary about Greenwood called 'BLACK WALL STREET'. This one was shorter, but even better.
