Fr 10/2/20- $74 at County Market; Dropped off presidential ballot.
Up 715am: Partly cloudy with temps almost to 60.
After the shopping I went downtown to drop the ballot on the south side of the Sangamon County Building. Two old guys were collecting ballots from the ballot box and I asked if the mailing envelope was necessary. "Just put it in, it really doesn't matter'.
Home to put away the groceries and watched Netflix disc 'HIDEAWAY'. Dir. Francoise Ozon. Pregnant and a junkie, the father of her child dies of a heroin overdose, but she decides to keep the baby. She's living in a rural area of France when the dead man's brother drops in and forms a relationship with the girl. Not great, but worth a look.
Then watched 'PICKPOCKET' (Netflix). Set in Bogata, Columbia a policeman who works closed camera surveillance runs groups of pickpockets in the city's tourist section. He finds a crew that he helps, and, in the end, they help him to leave the city. A pretty good film and it had been in the Netflix 'My List' queue for months, maybe over a year.
Going to do a shorter walk and drop off today's disc at the box by Walgreens on Monroe. Then some 'True Crime' on the treadmill.
***Luckily I checked the mail before I left because I got a $1,400 real estate tax bill that wasn't paid in September. I wrote out a check on the Ameriprise account and mailed it with the disc.
3pm...Fairway, east on Monroe and dropped the mail at the box next to Walgreens. Down to Kenyon and down to 940. 30 MINS.
Home to do FOUR AND A HALF MILES on the treadmill. 3.1 PACE. Watching GETTING DOUG WITH HIGH at JashFesht.
In the tub with HEINLEIN and listening to WITCH, TERRY REID, BAD BRAINS.
Watched 'PACIFIC HEIGHTS' (Amazon Prime). A young couple scrape together enough money to buy a beautiful home in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood and they expect to rent out a couple of apartments to cover the mortgage, but they get a tenant from Hell; with Melanie Griffith, Mathew Modine, and Michael Keaton.
