Up 830am, but read 'BLESSINGS' for about an hour.
***The sound on the living room PC did not come on until I used the 'clicker'. Why?
I watched 'THE CAT AND THE MOON' (Netflix). The title is a poem by W.B. Yeats. A high school senior from Detroit is sent to live with a bandmate of his late father. Mom's an addict and Dad committed suicide, and when the boy lands in Park Slope, Brooklyn everyone is in for a rocky ride. The dialog between the high school students seemed incredibly believable; Alex Wolff wrote, directed and stars. Another pleasant surprise.
***1016am: A strange fuzziness on the monitor for just a moment...Black/ Back On. Why? It never returned and hopefully it was something to do with Xfinity and not the living room setup.
I wrote the Weekly Wrap during a break from the film.
130pm: PC is 'Off' and I plan about an hour walk to and from The Dollar Store at Fairhills for more vitamins. And, the rest of the walk will be done on the treadmill later.
340pm...Wash.Pk. Northside, Park to Monroe... DOLLAR STORE Men's Vitamins... Monroe, Kenyon and down to 940...1 HOUR AND 20 MINS... Mp3... DERRICK AND THE DOMINOES.
Then 3 MILES in under an hour on the treadmill... YouTube video/lecture by Rolling Stone reporter Matt Taibbi. American journalism changed from appealing to the most general and largest audience to knowing 'a niche population like the back of your hand' and giving them what they want to hear.
In the tub with BLESSINGS and listening to THE MC 5 LIVE, JOHNNY THUNDERS ~ 'Chinese Rocks', SHAM 69.
Then watched 'RESIDUE' (Netflix). A young black film-maker comes back to his childhood Washington DC neighborhood to find that it vastly changed due to 'Gentrification'. A very subjective view in that what he remembers from the past is often superimposed over what he is experiencing in the present. I didn't really know how to feel about the film. If the message is that neighborhoods change, so what? Real estate developments that are brand new and fully populated today, in fifty or a hundred years will be unrecognizable. That's just the way of Time.
And then two episodes of the comedy series 'I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE' (Netflix). Very funny.
