Up 8am: Bright and sunny with temps to about 80. However, after today the highs will only be in the fifties.

Watched 'COLOMBIANA' (Netflix). A young Columbian girl's parents are violently murdered in front of her and she spends her life exacting retribution. Her uncle educates her on how to become an elite contract killer and she is employed by him as an assassin, but this part of her story isn't told. That might have been more insightful, but what we get is a fairly competent action/adventure yarn. Luc Besson wrote the screenplay and the film is from his production company and another example of his "high-octane, medium-budget action films". FUN FACT: Luc Besson was among the first to introduce the 'Parkour' discipline into action films.

Then watched 'JUDY & PUNCH' (Kanopy). Set in 'Seaview' (somewhere in the countryside and nowhere near the sea)...A very odd tale of domestic violence set in the medieval theater of 'Punch & Judy'. Professor Punch beats his wife and drinks to excess and accidentally kills his baby daughter. In a drunken fall he reflexively tosses her out the attic window. Later he savagely beats his wife and thinks she's dead and buries her in a shallow grave, but she survives. She is saved by a group of women who have been banished because they were not like the town's majority and accused of practicing witchcraft. The theme is that the town must become more open-minded because we are all freaks to each other....I guess. Not a bad film, but certainly has a strange tone; with Mia Wasikowska.

Watched Netflix disc 'CACHE (Hidden)'. I watched the film and was puzzled. I'll save the Director's Commentary for tomorrow. The film seems to be about Surveillance and Denial...or something. I will tag some YouTube reviews to watch and clear up the confusion.
