Up 7am: Overcast and becoming very windy around noon with winds gusting to over 40 mph. Unseasonably warm with temps to mid 70's and rain beginning this afternoon.
Watched 'A PERFECT GETAWAY' (Hoopla). While on their honeymoon in Hawaii the newly weds learn that another young couple is spreading murder and mayhem on the islands. Who are the homicidal honeymooners? They are. Beautifully photographed, lots of 'red snappers' (a character confuses 'red herring' with 'red snapper'), and very well-written; with Steve Zahn, Timothy Olyphant, Milla Jovovich, Kiele Sanchez, Marley Shelton, and Chris Hemsworth.
11am: FOUR MILES ON THE TREADMILL. Finished Rogan's interview with HENRY ROLLINS ('Protein' music is bands or music that he feels he needs to know, and 'Carbohydrate' music is bands that he knows and loves, "I thought you liked me, why are you calling me"?)and began Joe Rogan's conversation with BILL BURR.
Just off the treadmill and I got an email from Janny saying that Joe had a way of getting the city or country to handle the leaves in the abandoned house next door. When I called she didn't answer and just as I texted back, she called.
Then I saw that Bob had just returned from a run so I went out to talk to him about Joe's idea. But at the time I didn't know that contact with the authorities would only force the 'cash strapped' owners to pony up.
1-130pm on the phone. If I call the city or county they would do it, but would bill the owners. I don't want to stir anything up, and I'll let Bob and Carol settle that. We talked about the 35 firemen and the chief who have contracted COVID. Jamie tested clear and he'll be in for all the overtime that he can work. Thanksgiving is cancelled and no real answer on Christmas.
***Very severe thunderstorms are rolling through the area and the shit is really about to come down between 5 and 6pm.
Then watched 'LONDON' (Amazon Prime).
An odd film about a guy who is desperately trying to get his girl back. On the way to his ex's 'farewell party' he meets a strange rich man with a big bag of coke and full of ideas about God, Man, and Women. Nearly the entire movie takes place in a very large ultra-modern bathroom where several of the characters snort massive lines of blow and the goodbye party continues downstairs; with Chris Evans, Jessica Biel, Jason Stratham (with a full head of hair!), and Louis CK in a very small role as a psychiatrist.
On the treadmill for another THREE MILES and more of the BILL BURR conversation with JOE ROGAN.
In the tub with BETWEEN 2 RIVERS and listening to THE BUZZCOCKS, TOM PETTY ~'Mojo'.
Watched episode 1 of 'CRIME 360- Welcome to Homicide' (Amazon Prime). Forty-five minutes that follow a single crime through the arrest and imprisonment. A black man in Richmond, VA is found shot dead in the trunk of a car. Police learn the apartment he was murdered and the apartment renter admits the murder.
And then the next episode of 'CRIME 360- The Fatal Feud'. Two Richmond couples are next door neighbors in an apartment complex and some kind of altercation breaks out and one of the men is shot dead. Was it attempted murder or self-defense?
