Sa 12/5/20- Buddy's First Dose and my self-done haircut
Up 8am: I gave Buddy his first dose of the gel-pen. He will have had three doses by the time I talk to Dr. Kirk on Monday afternoon. Hope is in the air!
Mostly sunny and calm with temps to the mid 40's.
Then I watched 'THE KING' (Hoopla). A terrific Independent about a family's interaction with 'The Devil'. Before his religious conversion, a Texas pastor had a son by a prostitute and the kid has returned to have an affair with his sixteen year old daughter...and that's not the half of it. Lots of what I thought was legitimate 'Christian Perspective' and I thought the characters were believable and not cardboard cut-outs. It was a pretty accurate presentation of Christian evangelicals; with Gael Garcia Bernal (a stunning portrayal!), Pell James, Paul Dano, and William Hurt.
Then I finished the episode of 'THE CROWN' (Netflix) that I began yesterday and watched another episode: #5- A low level functionary attempts to bring the monarchy into the 20th century and #6- Nazi documents reveal that the Duke of Windsor and his wife were working with Hitler.
150pm: On the walk. Fairway, Parkview, Wash. Pk. along southside to Lincoln north to Monroe and over to Washington. Over to Walgreens PO box to mail back the disc, Fairway, Kenyon, and down to 940...ONE HOUR AND 30 MINS...Mp3...91.9 FM. I draped the Xmas decorations around the front stairway rail and the front light.
Then I watched '8 WEEKS TO 6 MINUTES: Becoming A Standup Comic' (Amazon Prime). Antonio Scarpitta is a Los Angeles based editor who took a course on how to become a standup comedian. The film documents how the class helped him to write a six minute set.
510pm: TWO MILES ON THE TREADMILL and finished a SARAH SILVERMAN podcast and began WHITNEY CUMMINGS with KESHA.
In the tub with DAVID LISS and listening to ALBERT AYLER, ALBERT COLLINS/ROBERT CRAY 'Showdown', ANTIETAM ~'Burgoo'.
***I cut about five inches off my hair and now it's collar length. Looks OK, but a fairly deep nick on the right side of my throat from the scissors. Saved some dough, but more importantly, no exposure to COVID! Worth the blood, sweat, and toil.
Watched 'DUSKY PARADISE' (Amazon Prime). An off-beat Indie about a young man who travels to an Mallorca, Spain after his parents are killed in a car accident. He has inherited a ten room, sea-side mansion and a tortoise. Soon after arriving, he clashes with a neighbor (but later they bond) and he falls for a local girl who leaves for London. A slacker point of view..."Life is basically just eating, drinking, and sleeping". "Yeah, but it's not boring if your attitude is right...or something".
