Tu 12/8/20- Buddy kept down his food
Up 830am: Mostly cloudy with temps to lower 40's.
When I got up I checked the house (upstairs and downstairs) for vomit. He kept down his food and I placed a call to Brewer to have Dr. Kirk call me back.
Watched the first two episodes of 'THE QUEEN'S GAMBIT' (Netflix). A female orphan discovers chess and fights to become a master despite her appetite for drugs and alcohol. An adaptation from the novel by Walter Tevis and he also wrote 'MOCKINGBIRD 'which was about a robot who wants to commit suicide and the death of reading. I know I own this book and I'd like to read it again. I thought it was even better than 'THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH' which was Tevis's most popular work.
***130pm still no word from Dr. Kirk, but Buddy seems to be doing fine.
155pm: On the walk. Parkview, Country Club, Laurel, north on Park and through Wash. Pk., along the northside and up the hill, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 25 MINS...91.9FM part of an interview with Bob Gruen, rock photographer to the stars.
Five minutes into the walk I got the call from Dr. Kirk. We will keep Buddy on a single dose of gel-pen per day and I will take him in the end of December or the first week of January to check his thyroid and kidneys.
Then watched 'HUMBOLDT COUNTY' (Amazon Prime). An anti-pot movie set in Humboldt County, CA about marijuana growers? There has not been a relatively recent movie so out of step with the times and so socially tone-deaf to the subject of pot. This one takes the cake; with Jeremy Strong, Fairuza Balk, Peter Bogdanovich, and Brad Dourif.
TWO MILES ON THE TREADMILL and watch a YouTube video with Iggy and Elvis. A surprisingly candid conversation and they both could have gone on for hours.
In the tub with DROP CITY and listening to RON MILES/BILL FRISELL and more RON MILES on YouTube Music.
Watched 'DOUBLE WHAMMY' (Amazon Prime). During a mass shooting a cop falls down and is knocked out. A ten year old boy retrieves his gun and kills the perp. The movie is kind of about how the cop rebuilds his reputation. He has an affair with his lady chiropractor (Hurley Is Hot), involves himself with his building super's daughter and some local thugs. The film had a 'trippy' tone, and maybe I was too...with Denis Leary, Elizabeth Hurley, Steve Buscemi, and Luis Guzman.
