We 12/16/20- Buddy Great
Up 815am: A light trace of snow fell last night and today it's overcast and temps close to freezing.
***Buddy is still upbeat and hungry. No vomiting and he's using the litter box.
I watched 'ROSE ISLAND'(Netflix). In 1968 an engineer built a drilling platform seven miles off the coast of Rimini, Italy. Because it was intentionally located in international waters, he declared that it was a political state and christened the 'his island', 'Republic of Rose Island'. Crazy premise, but all of this actually happened.
***I turned on the gas fireplace and it went off, I turned it back on, but it went off again. Left word at the service department at Marx Fireplace.
Left at Angie's List:
"I bought the gas fireplace from Marx in Springfield about five years ago. I've never had it serviced and today it stopped while running. I shut it off, but I need someone to clean, tune, and get it operating again."
They didn't tell me a thing and I'm not connected with any outfit that can help.
1215pm: FOUR MILES ON THE TREADMILL.
I called the guys that work on the furnace (MIKE BERGEN) and they don't do gas fireplaces, so I recalled Marx and scheduled an appointment for Friday, January 8th at 9-930am; $150 for a full tune up and cleaning.
Then I watched 'PHIL OCHS: There But For Fortune' (Kanopy). Dylan's talent and popularity completely overshadowed Phil Ochs, but he was far more specifically political than Dylan ever was. Dylan said he was ignoring his interior life and concentrating too much on exterior things like politics and this was not the path of an authentic troubadour. Ochs had a life-long history of manic depression and hung himself in 1976 at the age of 35.
545pm: TWO MILES ON THE Treadmill and watched more SARAH SILVERMAN.
In the tub with 'THE BARON AND THE CHINESE PUZZLE' ~ John Creasy and listening to THE ARCHERS OF LOAF, JAWBOX, then some LIVE IGGY POP.
Then watched 'BIG ALMA' (Amazon Prime). A biography of Alma Mahler- composer, author, editor, and socialite who married Gustav Mahler and later had relationships with numerous influential leaders in the music, art, and architectural worlds of early the 20th century. She certainly had an eventful life, but the film is little more than a Wikipedia article with an occasional interview.
