Mo 3/8/21- COVID Booster: 1115am/ SHOTS FIRED!
835am. 410pm. 1005pm.
Up 730am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to the upper 60's.
Watched 'TIME' (Amazon Prime). A black woman from Shreveport, LA. is raising her sons while her husband does hard time in the Louisiana State prison system. It's many minutes into the film before you realize that he's behind bars because they were both convicted of bank robbery. She was offered twelve years and she took it. He did not take the deal. The film spans two decades of this family's lives, but nothing in the film deals with the crime of bank robbery, yet it attempts to show the injustice of the overly harsh sentence. The film makes the case that prisons should be rehabilitative in nature and not punitive; According to 'www.federalcharges.com'- Bank robbery is a Class A felony with the minimum sentence 10 years and the maximum is 30 years or life imprisonment.
1030am: The PC is 'Off' and will leave for the booster shot just before 11am and home at noon. Estimate 75 - 100 cars waiting and I was told to use lane 2, but when I tried to move, they told me lane 1 was also giving the Pfizer booster.
***When I got on the computer after the shot I learned that there was a shooting at the corner of Ash and Glenwood...Almost right in the middle of Jamie's living room. I sent Janny an email and she said that Jamie and Melissa had just gotten in from a walk around the neighborhood when the shooting began. One of the shooters was hit in the hand and he was taken to St. Johns after he made to North Grand. This guy had been shot in another shooting just a few weeks ago.
Home to read 'GOODBAR' and eat rice. 2pm: ON THE TREADMILL...4 1/4 Miles watched HAMILTON MORRIS on The Joe Rogan Experience.
415pm: Watched 'FORCE OF NATURE' (Amazon Prime). A hurricane rips through Puerto Rico while 2 cops try to evacuate an apartment building where an armed gang is in the process of stealing priceless art... Silly premise; with Emile Hirsch, Mel Gibson, Kate Bosworth, Stephanie Cayo, and David Zayas.
610pm: ON THE TREADMILL...2 Miles at 3.4 pace and watched part of a SARAH SILVERMAN podcast.
In the tub with "GOODBAR" and listening to JOE WALSH, KEITH EMERSON and GREG LAKE~ Live, CORNERSHOP.
When I finished 'GOODBAR' I tried to access Kindle and had to Uninstall and Install. Wanted to read some of Howard Zinn's US History and then the new Swedish crime/thriller, but just spin... spin... spun. OK now.
Began 'THE UNKNOWN KNOWN' (Netflix). A bio of Donald Rumsfeld by Errol Morris. Rumsfeld comes across as a silver-tongued devil without a moral center and he's pleased as punch. His political posturing highlights his toxic blend of narcissism, egomania, and vanity. From Film.com: "The Fog of War is the superior film, but The Unknown Known is more unsettling."
