9am. 350pm. 855pm.
Up 745am: Partly sunny and temps to the low 60's. It will be in the lower 60's for the next several days.
I wrote up 'WINTER' by Len Deighton for the blog.
I watched the Netflix disc 'HOPE SPRINGS'. A British man travels to a town called 'Hope' in Vermont (filmed in British Columbia) to escape a failed relationship. The girl follows, yet he's already fallen in love with a local care-giver. Emotional mayhem ensues. This is a quintessential example of a 'date movie'; with Colin Firth, Heather Graham, Minnie Driver, Mary Steenburgen, and Oliver Platt. . There is a rest home in Hope called, 'The Shining Shores'..."Shining Shores- No, Whining Whores". The film is based on 'New Cardiff', a novel by Charles Webb ('The Graduate'). Filmed in Fort Langley, British Columbia; 50 miles east of Vancouver, BC.
***Randomly checking through my checking account at Heartland and found a charge to 'BA GENESIS 1347 West Cook'. I made that charge at the new pot shop on Dirksen after visiting Red Oak last Saturday. Why is the bank account tied to an address on west Cook?
Noon: Will read for a bit. At loose ends today.
145pm...Did the Weekly Cleaning and then raked some pine cones and branches in the backyard. It's Mow Ready!
4pm: To the Monroe PO to mail the discs. Out and back via Edwards...ONE HOUR AND 45 MINS... Mp3~ BOZ SCAGS~ 'Memphis' , DAVID BOWIE~ 'Lodger', DEREK AND THE DOMINOES.
Read 'GOODBAR' in the living room.
630pm: In the tub with 'GOODBAR' and listening to GENESIS, 'Quadrophenia' ~ THE WHO.
Watched 'BIGGIE: I Got a Story to Tell' (Netflix). The Life, Times, and Death of the late Christopher Wallace- 'NOTORIOUS BIG'. An interesting artist and he clearly had more than enough talent and creative genius to be an even bigger musical icon had he lived. I'm still not a fan of the rap genre- hip hop to a certain extent, but not rap...or much of it.
