Th 3/4/21- Move Day For The Brandenburgs

 Th 3/4/21

905am. 205pm. 510pm. 920pm.

Up 730am: Bright and sunny with temps to mid 50's.

Today is 'Move Day' for the Brandenburgs.

Watched 'CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE' (Netflix). An exceptional comedic cast with a goofy romantic premise, but it works- "Major League Rom-Com" ; with Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Analeigh Tipton, Joey King, John Carroll Lynch, Kevin Bacon, and Marisa Tomei.

Noon: On Treadmill... FOUR MILES... and began 'MURDER AMONG THE MORMONS' (Netflix); one episode and part of another. A series of bombings rocked Salt Lake City in 1985. Newly discovered 19th century documents cast doubt on Joseph Smith's meeting with an angel that led to the founding of The Church of The Latter Day Saints. Could this have been the motives for the bombings, but were they authentic documents? An interesting True Crime series.

Read 'WINTER' in the living room for a bit and then watched 'THE LOOK OF SILENCE' (Amazon Prime). In 1965 there was a military coup in Malaysia and the government has maintained that it was 'a spontaneous uprising by the people' and one million communists were killed for the good of the nation. Actually secret police worked with the military and the government to murder anyone that dared to oppose the new regime. Today these murderers are still in power and for almost fifty years the killers and the descendants of the victims have lived in the same small villages. The film documents one man's attempt to tell the true history of this bloody page of Indonesian history through the use of personal interviews with victims and perpetrators, but it seems that many people just want to forget. Beautiful and horrific at the same time- a classic documentary by Werner Herzog and Errol Morris.

The the rest of episode #2 of 'MURDER AMONG THE MORMONS' (Netflix) that I began earlier today.

515pm: A walk to Washington Park... Parkview, north side to panhandle and back south side, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 20"...Mp3~ first BYRDS, BLACK CROWES.

In the tub with 'WINTER' and listening to Africa ~'Amanaz', ACETONE, ELF POWER, TEA LEAF GREEN.

Watched 'BOB DYLAN- The Never Ending Narrative' (Amazon Prime). Stuff that I was not aware of in the Dylan hagiography and I watched 47" of it and will save the rest for a later time.

Then I watched the first two episodes of  'STATE PAROLE' (Amazon Prime).  Unintentionally this series demonstrates that in contemporary America the lives of the poor are being destroyed by petty parole violations. In the name of  'law and order' the justice system is making the country much more unstable and dangerous. Prison is only a place for people who pose a grave danger to society, not for people who pose no threat. And drug addiction is no threat to anyone but the user.
