We 3/1021
855am. 115pm. 915pm.
Up 715am: Overcast, very windy (wind gusts could hit 50 mph) and warm with temps to 70.
Watched 'NO ESCAPE' (Netflix). Not exactly a racist film, but most certainly xenophobic. A man takes his family on a business trip to an unnamed country in Southeast Asia and a violent anti-American coup occurs with no warning. One of the reviews mentioned that it couldn't have been more prejudiced if the family had been rescued by the KKK. The action/adventure was fever-pitched, tense, and exhausting, and none of it was even slightly plausible, yet still an enjoyable ('hate your self in the morning') experience; with Owen Wilson, Lake Bell, and Pierce Brosnan. Filmed in Thailand.
Watched the final episode of 'UTOPIA' (Amazon Prime). It's crazy how close a zany and madcap work of fiction could be so much like our current reality. The world is forced to gear up for a mass inoculation during a pandemic- that's 'the fiction' and 'the truth'. There is an English series based on the same graphic novel and I'll give that a shot to see if it makes more sense than the 'well-written and beautifully shot' American version.
120pm: Out for a long walk before the rains begin tonight. Parkview, Wash. Pk. Northside, panhandle, Walnut, Leland, South on Park, West on Laurel, Country Club, Oakmont, Parkview and down to 940... ONE HOUR AND 55 MINS... Mp3... MOBY~'18', STONES~'VOODOO LOUNGE'.
Reading '3 SECONDS' in the living room.
***Ordered 10 garden lights from Amazon for Brandenburg's housewarming gift; $38.00.
550pm: ON THE TREADMILL... 1 1/2 Miles (30") and 'HOW NEAL FEEL'.
In the tub with '3 Seconds' and listening to THE GODFATHERS, GANG OF FOUR ~ 'Complicit', STOOGES (Retrospective).
Watched 'THE TV SET' (Amazon Prime). A clever spoof about how a TV pilot gets picked up for prime time. The writer has pitched a nuanced script about the suicide of his brother. The studio transforms it into a gag-fest with phony melodrama and fart jokes. This could have been so much better, but was well worth a look; with David Duchovny (Duh-Kuv- Nee), Sigourney Weaver, and Judy Greer.
And then about 30" of 'HOARDERS' (Amazon Prime).
